March 5, 200916 yr I'm just looking through the songs now, it's going to be really hard. One song in particular has grown on me alot since the semis.......

However after the most recent votes have been tallied up the song in the lead has diminished its lead greatly....in fact it is now only 4 points ahead, and there are 7 countries tied for second place! It's all to play for!

I don't know if I believe you but 8 songs being within 5 points from leading is something! :o I've got it down to about 15 songs now, it's a tough choice deciding whether to go for your actual favourites which would be bad for the contest or picking songs you like less. which wouldn't be as bad
March 5, 200916 yr ^^ I voted for songs I liked regardless if it would be bad or good. I would never vote for a song I liked less because it is unfair. When people choose songs, they choose songs people like, and it's not fair that they get put behind other songs just because it would be "better for the contest". What does that even mean, better for the contest? Another cheap vs. uncheap?

Would there really be any point in participating in a contest where everybody realised that they could just get an easy good result by sending something that would obviously do well and reduced the big point of the contest, i.e. introducing others to new music, to a complete irrelevance? :mellow:

To destroy the concept of the BJSC. I'll wait to Sunday after the voting has closed before I comment further on BJSC XIV, as it is not fair to do otherwise IMHO. But if everyone went down the cheap route I bet I could easily name 4 or 5 of the Top 10 artist & song finishers in BJSC XV right now.

Fortunately I think that this is probably a one off like VIII and think normal service will resume next month :D

For goodness sake, can you actually LISTEN to what I'm saying?! :rolleyes: I even specifically replied to you in another thread saying that, when it comes down to it, if you can't find an unknown song you like the cheap one you do like is infinitely preferable! What IS a problem is when everyone does it because a. they can't be bothered to look, and b. because they want a cheap and easy good result! The point of the contest is to introduce others to music you like - there's nothing wrong with the odd person sending something cheap, but there's definitely something wrong with everyone doing it!

Well, for obvious reasons it's not exactly prudential to list who and who not to vote for :P If you don't want cheapness to overtake though, then vote for what you feel would be fine for the contest to cope with - what would you consider to be a bad winner as such?

I agree, I think everyone should just calm down and have fun. It's a contest, the whole reason we're here is to have fun and enjoy music but it's turning into some sort of Debate Hall. :nocheer:
