Staying true to what I said on the first page of this thread, Vlad The Impaler is not good at all. Fire has proved a slight improvement on that. As for the album being leaked - I'm happy to wait until the actual release date to hear more.

PS - are you saying you don't like "Empire"??? :o

After hearing it, it's above average. Nothing more. Hopefully it'll grow after a few more listens but so far I have say i'm disappointed. My own fault, was probably expecting too much.

Going down the Keane/Razorlight route of a great first album, good second album and poor third. Shame.

I was expecting to hate Fire, but I quite like it. But after the crap that Keane, Razorlight and Kaisers have come up with recently, I would expect the album to be rubbish.

this forum disapooints me sometime.....

Love the new Kasabian album and Fire is #1 on iTunes

I think a few of us should look for something more productive that going on forums to vent about something we do not like.

If you dont like it, get over it mate

Are you serious? After you trashed The Veronicas in the Sunday Chart Thread the other day, and now when people are negative about something you like it's different?
I'm probably in a minority but I absolutely LOVE this album. It's far better than 'Empire' and I think even better on their debut. 'Fire' sounds quite good on the album too. I got it at a similar time to the new Little Boots and Rumble Strips album which I'd anticipated far more (and are both good albums) but I'm listenign to this a lot more.
'Underdog' is the best for me, so damn good. I like the single but standsouts which rank above that along with 'Underdog' for me are 'Vlad The Impaler', 'Where Did The Love Go?' and 'Fast Fuse'. I'm not fussed on anything else.
I quite like the album. Not as many stand-out tracks as their debut, but it's a lot better than their last album. There's a couple of REALLY strong tracks on the new album. My favourites are definitely Fire and Underdogs though. The latter is especially good..

That was out of the moment....sorry if it came out as trashing them lol

At least I haven't gone on any Veronicas thread to talk about them :(

to be fair I did like Hook Me Up a bit hehehehe

i think the album is really good.probably their best.

definitely a step forward and it will not be a surprise if their next one will sound like XTRMTR by primal scream...

"underdog" is my fav moment.

"fire" is an excellent single and "Where Did All The Love Go" could also give them another top 10 hit.

people should listen without prejudices...

I listen to everything without prejudice. This is not a great album. No real direction, poor lyrics...its influenced are spelled out for you, and basically hundreds of bands have pulled this off better than Kasabian. Typical NME approved album.

The new album is fantastic.. Been listening to album for quite a while and it's getting better and better. Underdog, Vlad, Fire, Fast Fuse, Take Aim are all amazing.

Imo it's a must-buy.

I've never been the biggesrt fan of Kasabian, whom I previously regarded as the new Stereophonics due to their basic no nonsense, no thrills "pies and mash" sound and "uncool" image.

But this album is definitely my favourite of the three they have released, surpassing their debut.

I bought it on Monday the same day as Little Boots album, but much to my surprise I've been playing this album more than Victoria Hesketh's sadly over produced effort.

Give me Kasabian over "indie music for bedwetters types" Razorlight and The Kooks any day of the week.

To me, Kasabian have always been Primal Scream/Campag Velocet-lite... What I've heard of their new material really does very little to change my opinion to be honest.... Compared to what the likes of The Horrors are doing, this is rather poor, IMO.....

Obviously they're an improvement on the likes of Razorsh!te or The Kooks, but, frankly someone sticking a microphone up their arse and farting into it would be an improvement on those two..........

I bought it this week.... and it's a fantastic album. No nonsense, balls out rock... with that sneaky little Kasabian electronic twist.... they're most definitely a band who won't translate across the pond to the masses..... a peculiarly British band.... and that's wht I love them - thei music does what it says on the tin.

'Where did all the love go' should've been the killer lead single, though.

Oh, and the CD/DVD packaging.... BEAUTIFUL.

I'm a bit worried people mention The Kooks and Razorlight in this thread, though - shaking my head here thinking of some connection - can't think of a single one except they're Brit bands with male singers?! And as for Keane - their 3rd album is by far their finest - but that's not saying much, really.
