September 30, 200915 yr I think Teflonso is probably the best all round driver in F1 at the moment, however his achilles heal is that he is only good in a one man team. So how he copes driving with (hopefully as good as before) Massa next year will be as intriging in 2010 as much as the Hamilton/Raikkonen partnership, or will Alain Prost's legendary (& accurate IMHO) comments about Teflonso "The best driver in F1 when he decides not to throw his toys out the pram" ring true (again). Still Renault F1 2010 = Kubica & (likely) Kovalainen. Not a bad lineup IMHO. He is a superb driver, i just don't like to see him driving something without a Diamond badge on the front :P If we manage to claw Kovy back from McLaren i will be overjoyed! He was superb in 07 for us. Added to Kubica and i agree we'd have a pretty good line up. Now, if we can get the car to work for once........
September 30, 200915 yr Author It looks likely it will be 26 cars on the grid in 2010 ...... Motor racing-Toyota F1 head says pulling out an option - media Wed Sep 30, 2009 TOKYO, Sept 30 (Reuters) - A senior Toyota executive said that quitting Formula One racing was an option for the car maker, partly in view of the costs involved, Japanese media reported. "We need to turn it into an F1 where you don't need so much money," Toyota team head Tadashi Yamashina told a news conference in Tokyo on Tuesday, according to the Yomiuri newspaper. "We'll have to consider various issues while bearing in mind our ties with the main company," he added, referring to the team's owner, Toyota Motor Corp (7203.T). The Cologne-based Toyota team, who have yet to win a race since their debut in 2002 despite having an annual budget estimated at around $300 million last year, has signed up with the International Automobile Federation (FIA) to drive in the 2010 championship. If Toyota leaves Formula One, it will follow the lead of rival Honda Motor (7267.T) which exited the sport by selling its racing team to management. The renamed Brawn team has dramatically improved its form with its two drivers leading the 2009 Formula One standings, although a German auto magazine has reported it might end up three-quarters owned by Mercedes-Benz, a unit of Daimler AG. :(
September 30, 200915 yr Toyota won't be missed much. It'll be nice to get rid of the Trulli train for good.
October 1, 200915 yr Gutted Alonso's going to Ferrari, now Massa will never win the title :nocheer:  Can't wait to see Kimi alongside Lewis, he won't be willing to be a support driver. Ferdi vs Felipe might be good too, I personally don't see Alonso as a god of racing as so many others do so I can't see him walking over the Brazilian. Now all we need is Jens and Nico at Brawn Mercedes and we have a jolly good championship fight on our hands!
October 3, 200915 yr If anyone didn't see it live - I urge you to watch qualifiying today. Most exciting action-packed session EVER
October 3, 200915 yr How many accidents, but thanks God all drivers are ok, apart from Glock. But he will be ok too. Provisional grid 1. Sebastian Vettel 2. Jarno Trulli 3. Lewis Hamilton 4. Nick Heidfeld 5. Kimi Raikkonen 6. Heikki Kovalainen 7. Nico Rosberg 8. Robert Kubica 9. Adrian Sutil 10. Rubens Barrichello 11. Jaime Alguersuari 12. Jenson Button 13. Giancarlo Fisichella 14. Sebastien Buemi 15. Kazuki Nakajima 16. Romain Grosjean 17. Fernando Alonso 18. Vitantonio Liuzzi 19. Timo Glock 20. Mark Webber :yahoo: great for Nick!
October 3, 200915 yr woah, we didn't even make it outta Q3 :o Alonso can take his team mate to play with traffic before the seasons end.
October 3, 200915 yr woah, we didn't even make it outta Q3 :o Alonso can take his team mate to play with traffic before the seasons end. Ferdi did, but he got penalised 5 places and then didn't set a competitive time in Q2 due to all the accidents and traffic.
October 3, 200915 yr Author what we get penalised for this time? Teflonso deservedly penalised for speeding despite yellow flags, setting his fastest sector time when they were out in the same sector.
October 18, 200915 yr Author Brazilian Grand Prix = The Best Race of The Year. Britain's Brawn + Button go Bonkers in Brazil. :w00t: Mike Hawthorne (1958), Graham Hill (1962, 1968), Jim Clark (1963, 1965), John Surtees (1964), Jackie Stewart (1969, 1971, 1973), James Hunt (1976), Nigel Mansell (1992), Damon Hill (1996), Lewis Hamilton (2008) and now Jenson Button (2009). "We Are The (British F1) Champions My Friends ..." :D
October 18, 200915 yr Well done Jenson, a brilliant drive even if he came only 5th, he didn't have the fastest car recently but over the season he deserved it. He did some good overtaking moves today. excellent race, only thing missing was a rain shower which would have spiced it up even more. Edited October 18, 200915 yr by brian91
October 18, 200915 yr I'm pleased he's won and it's been an exciting season but I do think it's probably been the least champion-like of seasons since I started following the sport, however he's certainly the most deserving driver of the season even if he's been very average for a very long time and was only fantastic when there was only one good car. Even today, yes it was a great drive but having all the crap drivers and rookies qualify ahead of him I think it was stupid to doubt him scoring points.... Still, he took his chance and can only beat what's infront of him.
October 18, 200915 yr Well done to Button! I'm happy he and Brown won the World Championship! :cheer:
October 18, 200915 yr YEEEEEEEES!!!! Get in there JENSON BUTTON WORLD CHAMPION!!!! Never thought I'd say that!
October 18, 200915 yr Congrats to Button, he deserve it! Woow what a race :o, great race for Webber, Kubica & Hamilton. But the man of the race for me is Kobayashi! Nick has the bad luck in box and he had to give up. :(
October 18, 200915 yr I think that it's been a poor season overall, lots of races have been about which of the championship contenders can be the least rubbish, still even in a low quality season the person with the most points is the right winner. Well done to Jenson :P I just hope next year's a bit more exciting. I'd much rather have seen Jenson continue to dominate instead of a string of 5th-8th's :P
October 18, 200915 yr  at Trulli and Sutil. Trulli kicking off when it was his fault really  and congrats Jenson :D I remember posting somewhere once he would never win a title after his 1st ever victory. How I've been proven wrong  :drama:
