Was there ever any single that by any given order, it was placed at #1, #2, #3, #4 and #5 in any week of its chart run?

Do you mean that it occupied positions 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 during it's chart run? Think that's what you're saying!
July 2000 Eminem The Real Slim Shady 1-2-3-4-5-7-8-10-

Steps - Heartbeat/Tragedy

2-5-5-8-8-6-4-{1}-2-3-3-3-6-10-10...

What about a single that placed in every position in the top 10 during its chart run?

From those above, Steps Heartbeat/Tragedy seems the closest, missing only positions 7 and 9, along with Celine Dion's Think Twice, which only missed positions 7 and 10, and Eminem's Slim Shady which missed 6 and 9.

What about a single that placed in every position in the top 10 during its chart run?

Not sure, however Ne-Yo's Closer covered 1 to 8 in 11 weeks last summer:

7-5-3-2-1-2-4-6-4-6-8-

and All Saints Never Ever covered 1 to 7 in 15 weeks between 97 and 98:

3-5-6-5-4-4-4-2-1-2-2-4-5-3-7-

Frankie Laine's 'I Believe' is the nearest I know of
