Lady GaGa scores her 2nd UK Number 1 single.

For the 4th straight week in a row, we have a brand new UK number 1. Stefani Germanotta (Lady GaGa) scores her 2nd UK number 1, with her 2nd single. What's more impressive is that she has become the first act, since Timbaland, to score two number 1's from the same album, without a deluxe edition or a special Re-Release. Timbaland scored two number 1's back in 2007 with 'Give It To Me' and 'The Way I Are'. 'Poker Face' has had a pretty decent run before actually hitting the number 1 spot, moving 30-26-28-24-22-15-3-3-4 in her first 9 weeks.

At number 2 this week is Flo Rida, who just missed out on the Top spot, by a whisker! After leading all the way through the midweeks. But all is not over, Flo Rida releases the physical to 'Right Round' tomorrow, and will more than likely put up another fight for GaGa. Will the physicals manage to push Flo Rida that little bit extra, to guarantee him of being the first act since 2006, to climb back up to the number 1 spot? Or does GaGa literally have his number?

Dropping to number 3 this week, is last week's number one and the Comic Relief single 'Islands in the Stream'. The strength of Flo Rida and Lady GaGa's downloads, were just too much for this single to keep at number 1 for a second week. It also looks unlikely to sell as much as the last 'Comedy' Comic Relief single, '500 Miles'. Which sold over 300k in total.

Down another place this week for The Saturdays Comic Relief single 'Just Can't Get Enough'. The single has so far, despite not reaching number 1, has had a pretty decent and steady run of {2}-3-4 in it's first three weeks of release. Rounding off the Top 5 is a non mover from teenage American singer-songwriter, Taylor Swift. So far moving 22-{2}-5-5-5.

T.I. and Justin Timberlake manage to climb up the one spot to number 6 this week. But down the 1 space this week to 7, is Kelly Clarkson. 'My Life Would Suck Without You', is not only Kelly's first number 1, but it is also the first single, from any American Idol contestant to reach the top of the UK charts. The closest any American Idol contestant has got to reaching the summits of the UK chart was last year, when Jordin Sparks hit the number 3 spot with 'No Air'.

Completing the top 10 this week is a climber from Akon, whose single 'Beautiful' manages to reach a new peak at number 8. Beyonce climbs into the top 10 for the first time with her new single 'Halo' jumping 11 places to number 9. It become's Beyonce's 13th solo top 10 hit. Kings of Leon slip a couple of places to number 10.

The highest new entry this week comes from new electropop, male/femal duo, La Roux. 'In for the Kill' is their 2nd single (First with Polydor Records) and debuts at number 11. They finished 5th in BBC's "Sound of 2009" Poll, and are currently the support act for Lily Allen's UK tour. Their 'As of yet to be titled' debut album will be released later in the year.

James Morrison manages to benefit from Comic Relief as 'Broken Strings' is up a further 5 places this week to number13. Another new entry inside the top 20 this week, comes from veteran pop act, The Pet Shop Boys. Whose new single 'Love Etc.' enters the charts this week at number 14. Fresh from winning the 'Outstanding Contribution to Music' award at this years Brits, 'Love Etc' becomes their biggest top 40 hit since 'I'm With Stupid' reached number 8 back in May 2006.

AR Rahman, is a new entry this week at number 20 with 'Jai Ho'. Which was used in the award winning film, 'Slumdog Millionaire'. This time though, they have added The Pussycat Dolls and have decided to give it a release. It gives PCD their 8th consecutive Top 20 hit. This will be a contender next week and will probably give the girls their 7th Top 10 hit.

Up this week is Miley Cyrus' brother's band, Metro Station, with 'Shake It' as it moves up 15 places to 22. At number 27 this week on downloads alone is Franz Ferdinand's second single from their third album, 'Tonight: Franz Ferdinand'. 'No You Girls' is currently being used on the new iPhone advert, and is still yet to recieve a physical release which is in 3 weeks time.

In at number 30 this week is Enrique Iglesias and Ciara's 'Takin' Back My Love'. It becomes Enrique's 11th Top 40 hit and Ciara's 7th Top 40 hit. Enrique has been a promotional tour this week in the UK, but instead of using Ciara, he asked Gabriella Cilmi to promote the song with him.

Onto the albums this week, and a new number 1 from Ronan Keating with his fifth solo studio album 'Songs for my Mother'. The album is a special Mothers Day selection and is for charity. The charity is 'The Marie Keating Foundation' and is dedicated to his mum, who sadly died of cancer in 1998. Annie Lennox, also benefits from Mothers Day this week as she is a non-mover at number 2.

Kings of Leon have a slight boost this week as they are up a place to number 3 this week. The next two albums, more than likely gained a boost from Mothers Day sales. Faryl who debuted in the charts last week at number 6, is up 2 places this week to number 4. Some people will recognise Faryl as being one of the contestants on last years 'Britains Got Talent'. Take That are next at 5, moving up 4 places from last weeks Number 9 position.

Completing the rest of the top 10, last Weeks Number 1 album 'No Line on the Horizon' by U2, falls 5 places this week to number 6. GaGa is up one place to 7 this week. Kelly also suffers from the Mothers Day rush as she falls 5 places to number 8 this week. Bette Midler returns to the Top 10 this week. 'The Best Bette' which is a collection of her greatest hits, climbs 12 places to number 9. A Brand new entry at number 10 this week for Lionel Richie with his new studio album 'Just Go'. It has become Lionel's 9th Top 10 album.

Next week, GaGa will have to be fighting for the number 1 spot against Flo Rida again. Flo Rida's physical is released in shops, and could very well give him the boost, he needed this week to regain back that number 1 spot. Also heading for release are K.I.G. who have created the biggest dance craze since DJ Casper's 'Cha Cha Slide'. 'Heads, Shoulders, Kneez & Toez' is also heading for a release tomorrow. Currently at number 22 this week, is Metro Station. They have their debut released here tomorrow also. Could they be a contender next week?

But next weeks most anticipated release will probably be The Noisettes 'Don't Upset the Rhythm (Go Baby Go)', which is looking set for a Top 10 debut next week. Other notable releases come from, Steve Angello & Laidback Luke feat Robin S 'Show Me Love', White Lies 'Farewell to the Fairground' and download only releases come from Enrique Iglesias feat. Ciara 'Taking Back My Love' and Jennifer Hudson releases 'If This Isn't Love'.

The main challenger for Ronan in the album chart next week, comes from The Pet Shop Boys, who release their anticipated comeback album 'Yes' tomorrow. They will be hoping that 'Yes' becomes their first number 1 studio album, since 'Very' scored the number 1 album back in October 1993. Other notable album releases next week come from, Chris Cornell 'Scream' and Royksopp 'Junior'.

A little chart trivia

La Roux's mum is the daughter of Trudie Goodwin, aka Sergeant June Ackland from 'The Bill'.
