Just seen the album advertised on TV. Good thing. The album was introduced as "Timbaland presents...Keri Hilson" and they played "The Way I Are" first. Oh dear.

YAY for Old Hits being the selling points for NEW albums :heehee:

Did Timbaland even produce Knock You Down?

Nope, I think he only produced about 4 tracks on the album. :o

I think it's to do with the fact that she's on HIS label :heehee:
i dont get how someone who has all these names attached to her (Timberland, Neyo, Kanye West) hasnt hit the big time yet?? :S

...well she sort of has with 'Knock You Down', hasn't she?

I agree Cremey and she has also written quite a few UK Top 10 hits (including 'Gimme More' & 'Piece of Me') so as a writer I'd say she sorta HAS hit the big time, but as a solo artist, not QUITE yet... I'm sure she will be soon though!

Yes thats true.. but shes so underated! shes absolutely fantastic IMO, i just dont know how she hasnt made it BIG yet, whilst Rihanna has.. if you get what i mean? because Rihanna is not a songwriter.. and cannot sing live.. Keri can do both.. hmmm.

I think the big problem with Keri not hitting the 'big time' yet is that her associations with all these big names is actually detrimental to her; she needs a track where she stands alone and doesn't have the 'featuring' tag after her name, she needs to establish her credibility. I really thought 'Energy' would do better than it did in the US, and think it would be a perfect release for the UK market. Secondly, not all of her songs on her album have cross-over appeal outside of the R&B/Urban vein, which Rihanna had and is why she was propelled to worldwide super stardom. I don't think Keri is going to hit the big time with her debut, 'Knock You Down' was pleasant enough and got her recognised but I think her sophomore effort will hopefully put her in a better stead at attacking the charts.
