Scott. What a load of Gerald Ratners!

So, you think it is perfectly acceptable to tell you boss and your colleagues to f*** off, do you?

Whilst you have no problems with working with someone who back stabbed (numerous occasions throughout the series especially in the boardroom), lies to claim the glory for something she did not actually do (the book sales from Ben) & debatable business acumen (zero sales of the expensive toy horse, then blamed the lack of sales on the project manager; the decision to have all that writing on the leaflet to advertise Margate, overruling the advice of Howard, then in the boardroom she blamed Howard for it!); etc.

Whilst Shoat rightly pointed out that Phillip & Ben were rightly destroyed by the media for similar behaviour.

The only thing sexist with Debra, is that if a bloke had behaved in the edited show highlights like that, then he would have ended up being physically assaulted for such dreadful behaviour.

Still Debra was brilliant TV. The standout character in this series IMHO. Certainly Endemol should be banging their heads against a very hard physical form for not including her in the formerly brilliant Big Brother which she auditioned for twice, and got through to the reserve stand by list in one series. Little wonder whilst The Apprentice is getting series record high viewing figures, Big Brother is deservedly close to joining it's most famous housemate.

You seem to forget, this is The Apprentice we're talking about... NOT a real job training scheme.... What does any of this sh"t have to do with business....? It's entertainment.... The Apprentice is nothing like a real-life business environment, so frankly, I dont consider anything that the candidates do on the show to really be all that representative of how they would actually conduct their real life business affairs... The likes of Deb, Phil and Ben were clearly playing up for the cameras.... Although, anyone who goes so far as to do the whole "Dance in your pants" thing, and really, REALLY make an issue of it and bloody mindedly and continuously insist that it's the best idea EVER, even when people are pointing out the gaping FLAWS in the whole thing and the obvious truth that it's unbelievably BLOODY STUPID, really is a delusional, irredeemable tw@t who needs a serious reality check, or sectioned under the Mental Health Act..... I mean, come on, it's the sort of thing that you think is funny for 10 minutes, but then you realise, "nahh, it's daft, I were just pulling your leg".. But Phil the Moron kept on insisting that Captain Y-Fronts (or whatever the character was called) was the best thing since Tony the Tiger or the Honey Monster..... Like I say, TW@T.....

Debra must be pretty good at her proper job to get as far as she has done at such a young age... And, yeah, I really DO think that as far as her actual former colleagues go, it IS a bit of a case of sour grapes because she's successful at a young age, when most of them are probably still doing the same sh!t for 20 years, and she turned turned defence into attack (frankly, your attempts to liken her to Thatcher are both laughable and completely ridiculous, Debra hasn't exactly KILLED anyone lol: ).... There is a general feeling in business that a woman showing ruthlessness, aggression and tenacity is seen as a bitch or a "dragon lady", but a man showing these qualities is respected and "one of the boys"... You simply CANNOT deny that this is true, I would imagine the likes of Karren Brady had to put up with some utter sh"t in their business life......

There is a thin line between being "straightforward and blunt" and being downright unpleasant. I'm not sure Debra ever got that. And to be honest, after THOSE references that Mushy just reminded me of, how on earth could Sirallun have hired her after that? Who really wants someone in their organisation who is going to have their entire team put in complaints about them? It just WOULDN'T work.

but id remind you of 'with regret', 'keep in touch' and 'i might have made a big mistake letting her walk through the door'... glowing testimony from sas.... as an apprentice she would HAVE to have controled herself, otherwise shed be sacked.

Margaret - You're Fired!!

Well, not quite....

Margaret Mountford has announced that she is quitting The Apprentice after five series.

The 56-year-old corporate lawyer has monitored contestants' progress during tasks alongside Nick Hewer since the programme launched in 2005.

Mountford will now concentrate solely on her PhD in papyrology, leaving Sir Alan Sugar to find a new assistant for the show's sixth run next year.

Writing in The Daily Telegraph, she confirmed: "This will be my last series on The Apprentice. I have really enjoyed making the series and it will be a real wrench to say goodbye.

"But making The Apprentice takes up a large chunk of time each year, and that's time I could, indeed should, be spending on my studies. I am working on a PhD in papyrology at University College London, studying documents found in Egypt and written in ancient Greek.

"I have not made nearly as much progress as I would like over the last few years - and I want to finish my degree before I need a Zimmer frame to get up on the platform to receive it."

Mountford will make her final appearance in the series five final, which airs on BBC One tomorrow night.

A show insider told The Sun: "This will come as a big blow to Sir Alan and the millions of viewers. Margaret and Nick have almost as big a following as Sir Alan. She is very sad to be leaving but she feels the time is right."

That is bad, she was just about the best thing about the series, hope they double her money and persuade her to stay on

Scott is right, Apprentice is about ENTERTAINMENT, if these that are on the series are the 15 or so best business brains in Britain then god it is time to emigrate, I wouldn't trust half that lot to run a bath let alone a business but they are there for ENTERTAINMENT

Kate FTW though ^_^ ^_^

Nah, there's something rather fake about Kate tbh.... She's a Stepford Wife wearing business suits imo, she'd make a great Cylon..... Yasmina has more guts to her....

Shame about Margaret, her cutting comments the looks she gave the contestants were some of the best moments of the entire show...

Kate is quite like Sugar though am surprised that he is not a big fan, Sugar has a cold and unsentimental way of doing business and in some ways Kate is another Sugar with presumably less foul language in the work place but I like her style, business is meant to be done in a realistic/head screwed on/unemotional way and Kate does that

It looks like Kate has won .......

'Unfair edit' in Apprentice show

By Fiona Pryor

Entertainment reporter, BBC News

Apprentice finalist Yasmina Siadatan has revealed that scenes broadcast on Wednesday's show were edited out of sequence, portraying her "unfairly".

The 27-year-old told BBC News she had "made a complete fool" of herself when grilled by Claude Litner as part of a series of interviews for the episode.

On the show, she seemed to tell fellow contestants it had gone well, but those comments came after another interview.

"They cut the wrong exit which was really, really unfair," said Siadatan.

"I've had an apology so that's fine," she added.

The show's production company Talkback Thames said in a statement that Siadatan accepted there was no deliberate attempt to misrepresent her.

"The interview process is filmed over a day and this is edited into a one-hour programme which has to give the viewer an overview of each of the five candidates' performances.

"We have spoken to Yasmina and, as she stated, she made no complaint. Yasmina accepts that no deliberate attempt has been made to misrepresent her."

Speaking about her encounter with Sir Alan's former global trouble-shooter, in which she was challenged over her business accounts, Siadatan said: "The whole thing went tits up and I made a complete fool out of myself.

"I walked out and I said: 'Guys that was just terrible - that was a really really awful interview.'"

However, that sequence was never shown. Instead she was seen telling the four other candidates that the interview had been "very good".

"That was actually enjoyable," she continued.

During the interview, Mr Litner went through Siadatan's business accounts and pointed out her profit estimations, provided for the show's application, were wrong.

"If you don't know your turnover, it's a pretty sad indictment of your business," he said.

Siadatan was visibly surprised he had managed to obtain her accounts, despite the fact they were public documents. She appeared flustered and unable to answer many of his questions.

"I was expecting it to be a normal interview but it was just a raw interrogation about my business accounts," she said.

"Unfortunately I hadn't thought about my business accounts in five months, so when he quizzed me I didn't quite have the figures in my head.

Despite the misrepresentation, Siadatan said she had not complained to the show's producers.

"I was slightly edited in the wrong way and they know about that and it's fine.

"There's no complaints and no hard feelings. It's a business programme, it's also a television programme. We're not stupid. We're aware of that," she added.

This is not the first time the BBC has been criticised for editing footage out of order.

In 2007, a trailer for the documentary A Year With The Queen appeared to show the monarch storming out of a photo session.

However, after further investigation it was revealed that production company RDF Media had rearranged the order of events.

The company later conceded it had made an error of judgement.

RDF's chief creative officer, Stephen Lambert, resigned, as did BBC One controller Peter Fincham, who said he "took responsibility for what had happened".

Personally, I think this is really really bad by the BBC, as the whole editing out of order of Wednesday's episode made Yasmina out to be a liar, which is pretty damaging for her future reputation.

Devastated about Margaret, one of the best things about the show!

Not suprised about the Yasmina and the bad editing, it did seem strange that she said it went well.

Is it the fault of the BBC, or more the fault of the production company though....? After all, it's surely the Production company which edits the show.....

In general though, I agree, this seems a pretty deliberate misrepresentation to me.... I myself had a pretty dim view of Yasmina in that interview process.... And now it would seem that this dim view is more down to how the thing was edited....

I'd like to know if the BBC has put up the FULL interviews on the i-Player, so we can actually assess the candidate's performances more fairly balanced..... If not, they should.....

Does it make any real difference though ?

The guy that won last year lied through his teeth about his qualifications and very unprofessionally impersonated a dinosaur in the middle of an interview but he still won the show despite being a proven liar and acting in a non conservative way in interviews so I do not think this will harm Yasmina in any real way

There is no public vote, I suspect Sugar decided who he wanted some time ago and this is just going through the motions to pretend that it is a knife edge decision when in reality he decided who his apprentice is going to be after about the 3rd or 4th week

No amount of editing or making Yasmina look bad is going to influence the result, there is no public vote

Sugar has even chosen an apprentice before who LOST the final task

He won the SHOW, but if he hadn't, any outside employer would probably take one look at this guy's CV and chuck it straight in the bin.... If Yasmina fails to win the show, and become "sraln"s apprentice, her professional career could be fukked because the way the show's edited makes her out to be a liar....

She has nothing to worry about though tbh, she has her own business a very successful restaurant so she can just go back to that if she loses the final

I am 99% sure Kate will win the final, Yasmina earns far more in her restaurant than Sugar will pay her as apprentice so in reality why does she want to position, Kate wants and needs it more

On a seperate note how will he have to be referred to next year when he is no longer a Sir as he is about to become Lord Sugar, will he allow Alan or will it have to be the really cringeworthy "Your Lordship" etc :|

Can't believe Margaret's leaving!

Her eye-rolling was what made the show what it is! :snif:

And Kate FTW. If Yasmina wins I'll have lost all faith in this show.

THIS.
