Posted March 31, 200917 yr Lady GaGa is looking to become the first artist this year to achieve simultaneous album and singles number ones with early retail reports revealing The Fame and Poker Face are leading their respective markets. The Interscope/Polydor artist scored her second number one single a fortnight ago with Poker Face and it is now looking to fight off a challenge by Vertigo/Mercrury’s Noisettes with Don’t Upset The Rhythm (Go Baby Go) to make it a third week at the top. At the same time Lady GaGa’s album The Fame, which in January reached number three and sat in that position on last Sunday’s chart, has opened up a gap at the top of the artist albums chart of around 1,000 units over nearest rival Only By The Night by Hand Me Down/Columbia’s Kings Of Leon. The current albums number one, Polydor act Ronan Keating’s Songs For My Mother, should remain in the top five where it is likely to be joined by a new entry from Atlantic’s Flo Rida with Roots (Route Of Overcoming The Struggle). Two other new albums are presently hovering in or around the Top 10: Leonard Cohen’s Columbia-issued Live In London and PJ Harvey and John Parish’s first album together in more than a decade, the Island-issued A Woman A Man Walked By. Further down, the albums chart is expected to welcome brand new entries from Columbia’s Metro Station, Gomez on their Eat Sleep label and Rabid’s Fever Ray. Back on the singles chart and Data/MoS pairing Steve Angello and Laidback Luke are showing indications their hit Show Me Love will move from its present position of 12 into the Top 10 this Sunday. Mercury artist Just Jack’s returning single Embers looks a certainty to make the Top 40 after charting at a lowly 149 last week, while XL artist Jack Penate will debut with Tonight’s Today, as will Heavenly/Virgin’s Doves with Kingdom Of Rust. ====================================================== TOP 40 ONLY Singles 1 Lady GaGa (1,200 ahead) 2 Noisettes 3 Flo Rida 4 AR Rahman/PCD 5 Beyonce Top 10 6 Metro Station 10 Steve Angello & Laidback Luke Top 15 13 Lily Allen (NF) Top 20 KIG Enrique/Ciara Franz Ferdinand Top 30 Alesha Just Jack 25 Beyonce (SL) 26 KoL (SOF) Kid Cudi vs. Crookers Jack Penate Top 40 Jennifer Hudson 33 Saturdays (Up) :o Doves Flo Rida (BOY) ============================================ Albums 1 Lady GaGa (1k ahead) 2 Kings Of Leon 3 Ronan Keating 4 Flo Rida 5 Annie Lennox Top 10 Akon 9 James Morrison Leonard Cohen Top 15 11 James Morrison (Undiscovered) PJ Harvery & John Parish Elbow Top 20 Fleet Foxes Top 30 Killers Script 24 Girls Aloud (GHs) Ladyhawke KoL (BOTT) Top 40 Metro Station White Lies Pink MGMT NO SALES INFO

March 31, 200917 yr I think Gaga has got it in the bag for this week. It'll be a pretty static chart IMHO.
March 31, 200917 yr Author I agree, though I hope Jai Ho and Halo climb! Halo might either stall at #4 or fall 1 depends if Flo Rida's album has effect on the single
March 31, 200917 yr Halo might either stall at #4 or fall 1 depends if Flo Rida's album has effect on the single True, but I think they both have enough momentum to take over Flo.
March 31, 200917 yr PREDICTIONS - for today 1. GaGa - PF 2. Noisettes - DUTR 3. AR Rahman & PCD - Jai Ho! 4. Flo Rida 5. Beyonce
March 31, 200917 yr Maybe GA can squeeze into the top40 with "Untouchable" ^_^ And I'd like to see the Noisettes at #1 but that sounds unlikely now...
March 31, 200917 yr Poker Face is OK but not deserving of 3 weeks at #1 ahead of The Noisettes, Beyonce and PCD
March 31, 200917 yr Author LOL, the only track that fallen from the top 20 is the Prodigy, the rest of the top 20, are tracks climbing back up and falling slowly in the singles chart. Albums wise PSB have fallen down 14 places, ouch, double ouch, triple ouch
