What synth pop king Vince Clarke did next after leaving Depeche Mode & Yazoo & The Assembly splitting was form this duo with the camper larger than life Andy Bell who had a string of UK Top 20 hits in the late 1980s/early 1990s.

Were any of you fans of this synth pop duo or did you always regard them as a second rate Pet Shop Boys?

second rate psb, but i didnt like the psb either.

by and large i pretty much hated erasure, BUT , 'sometimes' and 'always' were very good tracks that both featured highly in my personal charts.

A classy pop act. Vince Clarke had never stayed with any act for long wwhen he formed Erasure but he seems to have found a partnership he's comfortable with and stuck to it. It's still a shame that their only number one was with an EP of Abba covers and that Vince Clarke's only number one was not performed by him - Flying Pickets a capella cover of Yazoo's Only You.

Erasure are my ultimate guilty pleasure. I grew up listening to them as a kid which has a part to play with it I guess. I ADORE Love To Hate You, Chorus, Sometimes and Am I Right? You Surround Me is one of my favourites of all time.

I can think of worse ideas then listening to an Erasure "Best Of" comp, I love "Sometimes".
They might be a clone of the PSB, but they still made some great records, " A little respect" and "Sometimes" were my favourites.

That's weird, Rob! Put the titles of your two favourite Erasure tracks together and you get the title of a Jesus & Mary Chain hit ("Sometimes Always") :D

I like most of what Erasure put out up to around 1992. Favourite is "Breath Of Life" which tends to get overlooked as it was followed up by the "Abba-esque" EP!
