I saw it a while ago LOL. She's absolutely hideous, and she's ALWAYS like that in interviews too, wheras GaGa's was (hopefully) a one off
Avril Lavigne  I forgot how much I lusted after her when I was about 14. :(
The interview really wasn't that bad, I mean watch this interview and the GaGa one looks amazing:

God she looks so bored :P It doesn't help that the interviewer (?) is completley not funny :P She should stick to the singing

Alex Zane's questions were plain awful, whilst Jonathon's were actually quite funny. I blame the presenter more for that one, but she could've put a bit more effort into it!

Just checked the Avril Lavigne interview. I must defend her tbh, I think the interviewer was really really bad, dump questions and Avril was right to make those "funny" faces...
It was a theatrical performance; I firmly believe it was her intention to shock the audience, looks like she succeeded.

The interview wasn’t nearly as bad as some people are making out. It showed up Jonathan Ross’ poor interview technique more than anything. He seemed more interested in getting humour out of her name and fashion than asking anything meaningful. Kinda reminds me when Parkinson got on the wrong side of Meg Ryan.

It was a performance yes, in that she was totally fake and not at all herself. And it came across BAD. You can be quirky and engaging - look at Gwen Stefani's interview whilst promoting LAMB - without being totally rude.

Jonathan Ross' questions were more than fine, and if he was interested in poking fun at her name - as do most people - then it's because his chat show is a comical one. If she'd wanted deep and meaningful perhaps she should've done an interview for Time.

So Jonathon (even jokingly) suggesting she was a man, doing a stupid impression of someone GaGa likes and going on about her name wasn't awful? Jonathon asked a few decent questions but he was acting a bit child-like with her and she reciprocated.

So Jonathon (even jokingly) suggesting she was a man, doing a stupid impression of someone GaGa likes and going on about her name wasn't awful? Jonathan asked a few decent questions but he was acting a bit child-like with her and she reciprocated.

Come off it, she had clearly taken something!

What was with the odd head movements, even at the start when they introduced the guests.

He asked her about songwriting and her being popular elsewhere and being a big hit...and all she could say was YES in a really awkward sort of condescending way! This was before the 'man' comment! In truth with some of the questions, even asking her real name, she could have been evasive..but it was more the way she went about it- didnt come off well! As people have said who were there, who i have spoken to, say the audience were laughing at her for being a prick! And, truth is most of the viewing audience would have thought the same...,she did herself no favours.

A few of my friends have txt about JR and said she's a drugged-up fruitloop!

Look at all the comments left on Youtube and gossip blogs, it was an EPIC FAIL...the whole JR thing!

As much as I like Avril, she is a stuck up cow.

Popworld was notorious for taking the p*** out of its guests, and not asking run of the mill questions. That is Alex Zane's interview style, its aimed at pre-teens and teenagers so while it may seem a bit silly to us i'm sure many younger people found it funny back in the day.

Agreed. She gets asked about her name all the time so it wasn't like he was an exception. She just came across really stupid and a lot of people are slating her.

can we get back to talking about itunes please.

Exactly, Jonathan Ross generally failed to engage with her through out the interview and demonstrated why he is an old unfunny has been. :/

TBH She would have been much better off on Later With Jules Holland...

Why was she moving her head so much?

Ebenezer Goode? Diet Coke? Just got off a plane/jet lagged?
