Incorrect :P Cheap has existed since the first contest when people were seriously worrying that Maneater would win! :lol: The only reason Lily didn't get a massive backlash in VIII was because there was some seriously cheap stuff in that contest - in fact, we tend to have a very cheap contest every six or so months. II, VIII and XIV have been our cheapest to date, so I'm expecting XX to do likewise :(

I completely fail to see how a demo that had leaked just hours before I jumped on it (with even a different song title to the finished version (Guess Who Badman became F*** You and it did not have the final verse with the bridge and key change) is cheap that had leaked well in advance (5/6 months) of the album or promo for the first single from the second album.

 

Especially as Lily Allen has failed to gain a Top 200 finish on the Record of The Decade Game that I am running on the site; so she is not that popular an artist on Buzzjack compared to: Britney Spears; Girls Aloud; Sugababes; Coldplay; Christina Aguilera; Kylie Minogue; Nelly Furtado; P!nk; Rihanna; Kelly Clarkson; Dido; Killers; Alicia Keys; Amy Winehouse; Leona Lewis; Shakira; Beyonce/Destiny's Child; Gwen Stefani/No Doubt; Black Eyed Peas/Fergie; Snow Patrol & Take That whom all have 3 or more songs in the ROTD Top 200.

 

 

Lily has been accused of being cheap more recently but personally speaking i have never seen her as cheap.

 

I gave up trying to defend her, especially to the minority who never seemed to take on board what anyone else was saying, and to the 'poster' that started this discussion.

 

I Don't Know was not cheap, she had the most underused forum on here. Hell we were lucky to get above 50th in the tables! So I Don't Know and Guess Who Batman were never cheap and both demo's both had leaked hours before being confirmed. They happened to do very well, but VI was a whole different ball game and VII was still a different contest to what it is now.

 

I failed to see how a track from her second album was cheap. Hell i confirmed it provisionally before the first mids came in, and properly in Singapore airport before it went to number 1. She still isn't a big artist now on BJ and until she becomes a big artist i refuse to consider her properly cheap.

 

I didn't bother to send Everyone's At It over some cheap accusations, it was rumoured to be the first single but before it leaked we got told about The Fear being the lead, and then it leaked and because no one goes to her forum it was being called cheap.

 

I had the first video of that damned song on youtube, even Popjustice linked to my YT video.

The Veronicas have never had a hit single in the UK - haven't even charted.and they are classed as cheap. So I think Lily is cheap. She's a popular artist who everyone knows and is easy to search for her demos. That's just my opinion, though it doesn't mean I like her any less or would give her less points. I'm not against cheap.

By the way. Why did you (probably) spend hours thinking of a few points why Lily isn't cheap when you admitted it yourself?

And when a demo has been leaked for less than 2days it can be pretty hard to find. Fuk U was very rare and as was a good quality IDK.
