Bob Dylan could be heading for his first UK number one album since 1970 with newly-issued Together Through Life taking an early lead at retail.

The Columbia artist last topped the chart in November 1970 with New Morning, his sixth chart-topping album, but has opened up a lead of around 3,000 sales this week over his closest challenger The Enemy.

The band’s second Warner Bros album Music For The People presently sits at number two on sales, according to early retail reports, with Interscope/Polydor signing Lady GaGa’s current number one, The Fame, occupying third place.

Just outside the top five, LaFace/RCA’s Pink is gaining ground with Funhouse, whose sales are up nearly 70% on the previous week, while Echo/Parlophone act Bat For Lashes’ Two Suns is pressing hard to return to the Top 10.

Dylan and The Enemy are likely to be the only new entries to the Top 10, while a few places below new arrivals are expected from Roadrunner’s Heaven & Hell and Interscope/Polydor’s Pussycat Dolls, the latter with a new version of their Doll Domination album.

Morrissey’s 1995 album Southpaw Grammar, which originally peaked at number four, will return to the chart on Sunday in a newly-issued version through Columbia, as will his 1997 set Maladjusted.

Having debuted at the top on Sunday, the 4th & Broadway-issued Number 1 by Tinchy Stryder featuring N-Dubz is expected to spend a second week leading the singles chart with its main challenger again Polydor’s La Roux with In For The Kill. Columbia’s Calvin Harris, Interscope/Polydor’s Lady GaGa and RCA’s Ciara featuring Justin Timberlake presently complete the top five sellers.

A reworking of Elton John’s Tiny Dancer combining its co-composer with Ironik and Chipmunk is currently the week’s biggest-selling new release and the Asylum single is likely to debut in or around the Top 10.

Other new entries to the singles chart this coming Sunday will include new singles from Polydor’s Morrissey and Fiction act Maccabees.

[02] This is a mid thread for every artist do not go on and on and on about a certain artist to bring the board into disrepute.

[03] Please be patient when you are asking for a request, as you might not get an answer straight away.

[04] Any member asking for information that isn't in the updates we don't have, always read the topic before you post, I do not want to see questions like Where is Britney? repeated several times on every page of the thread, once is enough, bookmark the page if you don't have time to read all of the topic. Its not that hard.

[05] Do not use BLOCK CAPITALS when posting a sentence its considered as shouting and rude.

[06] Do not use Text Talk.

[07] Do not use a light colour font when posting please its hard to read the topic, not everyone has 100% vision.

[08] Please give a mention to who posted the chart info or the site name where you seen the mid info if you are copying and posting the chart info elsewhere, it takes forever trying to re-edit all the information up for you to see.

[09] Finally, please do not post lists, or sales info unless you are told to by myself or a chart mod, if you do have sales info that you wish to share round them off to the nearest thousand and name your source, do not post precise sales figures.
