Posted June 21, 200619 yr Top 40: Royal Ballet Sinfonia/Gavin Sutherland - Radio 4 UK Theme (#29 in April 2006) Top 20: Jurgen Vries - The Theme (#13 in September 2002) Top 10: Safri Duo - Played A Live (The Bongo Song) (#6 in February 2001) Top 5: Darude - Sandstorm (#3 in June 2000) Top 2: Robert Miles - Children (#2 in March 1996) #1: Doop - Doop (#1 in March 1994) If you count songs that are mainly instrumental (but do have a few words in them), then the following would count: Top 10: PPK - ResuRection (#3 in December 2001) Top 2: Mr Oizo - Flat Beat (#1 in April 1999) There may be some that I have overlooked. Also, I have no idea if there are any instrumental singles that have reached the top 75 (but not top 40) since April.
June 21, 200619 yr Are there words in Flat Beat? Also, Doop is absolutely full of doop de doop samples.
June 22, 200619 yr There should be more instrumental tracks...Jurgen Vries and Safri Duo's songs are absolutely excellent :-)
June 22, 200619 yr Author Flat Beat has a voice at the start that says something like "Oh yeah, I used to know Quentin, he's a real jerk".
June 23, 200619 yr Flat Beat has a voice at the start that says something like "Oh yeah, I used to know Quentin, he's a real jerk". hasnt Quentin Dupieux done an advert recently or something? think i read something
June 23, 200619 yr Was "Eye Level", by (I think it was) the Simon Park Orchestra the last #1 which was purely an instrumental. i.e. no vocal sounds. "Give it away" by Zero 7 would have made a superb instrumental single in my opinion. Edited June 23, 200619 yr by Mr Soundbite
