You're not out of the woods yet Newcastle!, cheering like you'd won the league! Strange things can still happen in the results business.

Tbh I think Boro need to go to the Championship to sort themselves out. I mean £12M for Alves :(

I don't know why Newcastle fans are so jubilant - with their 'amazing'(ly $h!t) support they should be at least be challanging for the Europa League, add that to a large wage budget also. If any Newcastle thinks they'll be fighting anything other than relegation next season then they are quite frankly utterlty deluded.

^ They won't be fighting relegation next season, in fact I reckon they've got a good chance of finishing in the top half of the Championship.

Just wish Hull and Boro had lost as well today to almost keep us safe. It's in our own hands now, a point against Pompey on Monday should be enough really but all 3 would be preferred as I don't want us to go into the Chelsea game on the last day needing a result.

Could West Brom pull off a great escape now that Liverpool and Blackburn have nothing left to play for? :o

No. I doubt it highly.

Todays results were excellent in regards to suspense on the last day of the season. West Brom winning tomorrow would be the perfect set-up for next weekend.

I worry about the Newcastle-Villa match though. I can see them picking up points at Villa Park moreso than I can see Hull getting anything against Manchester United (although that largely depends on Fergie's selection), Boro getting anything from West Ham or Sunderland getting anything from Chelsea (assuming they don't get the win at Pompey on Monday).

If West Brom win tomorrow then it would really stir things up, but I highly doubt its going to happen. All this crap that Liverpool have got nothing to play for is bull$h!t. We've still got 2nd place to play for and I want us to finish the season as strongly as we can.

Shame West Brom have gone down playing football while Stoke have thrived playing rugby and turning themselves into modern Wimbledon.

I can’t see Hull (V Man U), Newcastle (Aston Villa V) or Middlesborough (West Ham V) getting any points on the last day of the season; looks like Hull may well survive but I fear for them next season.

Scant consolation for finishing second for a third time this decade when at one stage it was clearly in your hands. Besides both 2nd and 3rd go straight into the group stages of the Champions League; differentiation is kind of pointless.

2nd looks better and we get more money for finishing 2nd. And yes we through the title away, but that's what happens due to inexperience in title races. No team has ever won the title without being involved in the title race the previous year. Usually we're out of the title race by Christmas, this year it was 36 games. Every year we've got better and better. Like i've said before, i'm quietly confident Liverpool shall win the league next year.

Indeed, look what happened to us in 1992! We looked like we were gonna win that for sure and Fergie said it was the year we were finally gonna win it but inexperience came to play and Leeds took the title. <_<

Stoke get a bad time I think. They're not a bad team at all, they can certainly play and it definitely helps now they have width. Lawrence and Etherington possess more width than what most teams play and you don't play long ball with proper wingers, and Fuller has pace up front too!
