I didn't think much of this when I listened to it earlier. Maybe it needs a couple more listens. It sounds like I SHOULD like it but as a whole it doesn't please me. :(

It's a bit all over the place if I'm honest. It's good but sounds like a lot of ideas / too much going on at the same time which makes it a bit blah. Still happy they're back!
^ Yeah the instrumentation is choppy and dense, too much going on there and then the vocals sort of splurge their way out. Frightful.
I loved their last album, will have to give this a listen ^_^

I love Dragonette. Can't wait for the new album, Galore is one of my favourite albums.

Is it getting a UK release or is it an import job?

'True Believer', 'I Get Around' & 'Black Limousine' were all great songs though i can't remember anything else by them.

I quite like this, its grown on me quite a lot since the first time i heard it.

I kinda agree with you there, I think I should like it, it's basically like lots of other stuff I like, but it's just a bit of a mess.

I remembered liking the album when it first came out after one listen, but I revisited it recently for the first time since and I found it pretty terrible. :( 'I Get Around' and especially 'Jesus Doesn't Love Me' were monsters though, as well as a couple of others on the album.

 

Does anyone have a YouTube audio or video of this? I can't really be bothered to look for it. :lol:

It would have took less effort to type out 'Dragonette - Fixin to Thrill' in google then it would have done to type out your last sentence. :o

The song is really good imo, but this is the type of the song that i always get bored of very quickly, have not much heard about them before, but having listened to this song i kind of agree with Jake about them too 'sexed up'. Idk if it's good or not though :heehee:

I'm reviewing the album for my blog and I'm liking it a lot at the moment. Going to give it a few more listens before writing any more about it. The Richard X remix of Pick Up The Phone is pretty special by the way, you should check it out.
