It's not that hard to understand, the Itunes chart is a rolling chart established on the sales of the last 72h or so(I don't know exactly), so considering the hype only began during the show and the day after the show (ie yesterday), those sales are still counted in the present update. So don't expect the ESC songs to drop before tomorrow...

 

So realistically if it is a 72 hour rolling chart then there's a possibility he could even climb / increase in popularity between today and tomorrow? As Friday's downloads would still be counted today, when Alexander had little to no downloads.

I don't know if it's exactly 72h, but usually newly added songs always seem to climb for about 3 days before stalling. So I guess a whole Itunes shift is about 3 days, maybe less... Alexander could still maintain very high all week though, cause it seems there's a real hype about the song at the mo!

Not anymore. Dizzee managed it in one night, because iTunes has changed to a 24 hour rolling chart I think...

Songs have always climbed to their peak if it has enough built up demand. Even as far back as 'Foundations' which shot to the top 3 within 24 hours of being added...

Dizzee was added Sunday very early morning, so if it was a 24h rolling chart, it would have reached his peak of popularity very early this morning... and actually his popularity bars have still increased a lot all day long !

Yes, songs can reach #1 on itunes after 24h, but generally their popularity bars are still increasing for 1 or 2 more days. That's what make me thinks it's more a 48 or 72h rolling chart than a 24h rolling chart.

Daniel M is a good example too, he was added nearly 48h ago but he's still gaining places in every single update... but I may be wrong :lol:
