May 17, 200916 yr Russia gave France 10 points and Ukraine just 2 points?! What the frak? Isn't there a rule that if you used to be part of the same country, you have to vote for your former brothers regardless of any present political differences? Russia used a Ukraine singer for its entry, then gave a token 2 points to Ukraine? Isn't Svetlana Loboda popular on Russian music television? What happened here?

Svetlana Loboda used to be a member of probably the most popular Russian girls-group, VIA Gra, or Nu Vigros. Don't know what happened there but 10 and 12 (Patricia, who is ADORED here and of course Rybak) have already been reserved no matter what performance Ukraine has... It might be the Juries though... I seriously think if it was about the televoters only Ukraine would have got 7/8 points! And WTF at the bolded part?! :manson:
May 17, 200916 yr FYI, Ukraine and Russia used to be part of the U.S.S.R. (CCCP). ;) Like i don't know :heehee: Why do we have to give each other points?
May 17, 200916 yr I've never seen you post like this :kink: Caroline'd have been excellent tbh!!! The only thing would have been hard is to get through the finals! I can see why MF is wanting to be separated from Eurovision, Swedish pop is so different to everything else in Eurovision these days...Stay The Night by Alcazar was obviously my favourite but would have most likely done nothing in Eurovision :snif: in fact, of all of the top eleven in MF, the only songs I think that would have had a remote chance of coming top ten in the ESC final is Moving On by Sarah Dawn Finer and possibly 1000 Miles by HEAT...they're a bit out of touch at the moment :snif:
May 17, 200916 yr Well, I'm referring to block voting, of course. The former Yugo republics do it a lot, and Russia benefits from its neighbors' votes too. The topic has been beaten to death here, but while some say it's just due to similar taste in music, I don't think that's the case much of the time. Really awful stuff gets voted up by neighbors. I'm sure you can think of examples. Anyway, if it wasn't a problem, then they wouldn't have come up with these juries. I just didn't think the change would result in Russia giving Ukraine almost no points.
May 17, 200916 yr Jade got hit in mouth by violinist XD I would of so started yelling at him in the middle of song...

Wow, some people won't let their prejudice at rest whatever will happen. But, of course, that happens only to Yugo republics and neighbours of Russia. Has nothing to do with Ireland giving always high points to UK, Andorra giving points to Spain and other cases. No-no, that happens only with the bad east Europe. As i am concerned the position of Romania reflected the quality of the song: high when the song was good, low when the song was boring (like this year  ).
May 17, 200916 yr Yes, it happens in the West too, of course. To me, the Scandinavian block vote is most noticeable there, though this year it was masked by two legitimately good Scandinavian entries (Norway and Iceland.)
May 17, 200916 yr I'm not rude at all, he told that the whole contest was fixed :manson: no i didn't LOL. I was merely saying political voting is still a big part of it and it's made very apparent.
May 17, 200916 yr Norway sucks but it still wins... Well.. Eurovision has officially Failed! Ukraine and Sweden and Malta got few points!! (they should have gotten more! ) --> They were predicted for the top 10 i reckon! Also -- The last country was... Finland, with got 8 points from a Scandinavian country! ( and i think lots of the other points are scandinavian too) Malta should have gotten at least 50 points but Malta got no neighbours! Malta should quit cos Eurovision sucks and Malta can never win ESC because of neighbours!
May 17, 200916 yr Some of the countries said 12 points to our neighbours XX Moldova got 2 douze points ... they got neighbours! (Same Croatia) :puke::puke2: Neighbourvision must be the contest's name!
May 17, 200916 yr semi final 2 - norway azerbaijan estonia greece moldova ukraine albania denmark lithuania serbia ireland poland croatia - JURORS PICK cyprus hungary slovenia netherlands slovakia latvia Interesting! :o I thought Serbia was last! I'm glad we had our chance for the final even when we send such joke song. Great winner, btw!
May 17, 200916 yr Some of the countries said 12 points to our neighbours XX Moldova got 2 douze points ... they got neighbours! (Same Croatia) :puke::puke2: Neighbourvision must be the contest's name! Never knew that Portugal is a neighbour of Moldova. Wow, new things to learn here! And about Romania giving 12 points to Moldova: Moldova deserved it from romanian point of view. A Hora is a traditional romanian dance, the tune was very much influenced from folklore, Nelly sang in romanian (and english). In Romania the "etno" style is very very loved at the moment, the charts are full with this kind of songs (and that not this year , but at least 10 years already). Coming from Moldova, Romania or from Bregovic (he is a superstar in Romania, i bet he is not very known in West-Europe) - it is for Romania very much egal. If Malta or UK would sing an etno song it will get also a lot of points  . But i not justify no more here the taste of east -europe. The lesson is: send good song, with personality, not just good singer singing MOR ballads, which are to be forgotten 5 minutes after listening. Fairytale won not because of the singer voice quality , but because of the passion he put in it, of the personality of the song . If you heard it once, you will remember where and when you heard it for the first time. That make a special song  . Sorry to say, but as nice as the Malta and UK ballads were, they won't be remembered instantly when you hear it. Edited May 17, 200916 yr by IrisAlbastru
May 17, 200916 yr Here's how I rated boys and girls: (can you tell I like eurodance much? :P) 01 Germany - I loved this. It was so gay and just proper catchy :D 02 Estonia - The eScala wannabees. Really spooky, but really likeable. 03 UK  I'll admit, I'd never heard the performance before. Bit of an X-Factor winner release song but it was amaze  04 Finland - Eurodance to the max  05 Azerbijan - Girl was stunning! Great song. 06 Ukraine - What Eurovision is all about. Proper slag and well flamboyant staging and dancers. 07 Greece - Bloke was quite hot. Catchy eurodance song. 08 Malta - I marked these down because they've used the fat bitch twice before. She was good though. 09 Albania - 17 y/o had an amazing vocal but the performance was weird. 10 Lithuania - Not trying to be anything it wasn't or OTT. Enjoyable performance. 11 Spain - Nice song. Not amazing. 12 Denmark - It was a really good song but I f***ing hate Ronan Keating to the max. 13 Turkey - Everyone loved this but I didn't think it was that good. 14 Armenia - Quite a good entertaining peformance, if not a bit gothic. 15 Romania - Nice, but forgettable. 16 Iceland - Once again, did really well but it was just forgettable. 17 Norway :puke2: Younger version of Colin Farrell. Completely annoying and totally didn't deserve to win. 18 Sweden - Good vocal but f***ing boring. 19 Moldova - WTF  I just didn't get it. Awful costumes aswell. 20 Croatia - There was just loads of 'moaning'. Completely pointless. 21 B&H - Good with insruments, but boring as. 22 Portugal - This was well gay but not catchy and just f***ing boring. And the girl was fat. 23 Israel - Boring. 24 France - The Celine Dion wannabee. Boring and what is the point of having someone who's massive over Europe? Just desperate to get votes as they've done $h!t recently. 25 Russia - That girl where her face aged. $h!t vocal. $h!t performance and just bloody irritating! Mwah x
May 17, 200916 yr I think it was a fair result LMAO at the performance of Mamo :P Russia were begging to come last :P
May 17, 200916 yr The Norway song was so cheesy and awful. I can only imagine how bad everyone must have been if THAT won.
May 17, 200916 yr Fairytale is all over the radio this morning, and it's #2 on iTunes. ^_^ I can see it doing VERY well over here!
