DAVID Tennant and Billie Piper are reunited on the set of Doctor Who after some time - and their rapport continuums.

They laughed and joked as they filmed the Christmas Special - after a year enjoying their own space.

Billie, 26, took a break from playing side-kick Rose to become a mum to Winston, now seven months old. And she filmed the third series of Secret Diary Of A Call Girl.

An onlooker at the south London set said: "Billie and David were joking about and seemed delighted to be working with one another again.

"They've got a natural chemistry. They get on so well."

The Christmas special, featuring The Doctor's old adversaries The Ood, will be 38-year-old David's last but one appearance as the 10th Time Lord.

He announced last year that he will leave the BBC show at the end of 2009 after completing three full series.

David took over from the previous Doctor Christopher Eccleston in 2005. David's final episode will be aired on New Year's Day, when he hands over to Matt Smith, 26.

I really do love rose, and no-one will ever beat her in my eyes but returning AGAIN? After her semi happy ending, and being sealed off in the parallel universe for a second time...?!

But im glad she is back, and hopefully so will Catherine

Catherine is back too! I don't understand, in the end of series 4 they said she couldn't remember a thing about The Doctor or anything else or she'll die? Also, Donna's Grandad is the companion for the Christmas/New Year's Episode! Rose is just a guest star. Also returning as guest stars are John Barrowman, Camille Coduri, Jacqueline King, Tommy Knight, Elisabeth Sladen.

:o

Why do they have to bring all these bloody characters back, it just makes all the goodbyes at the end of series 4 pointless.

They better bring Martha back though

I must say I was a bit miffed when I found out about Rose returning again. I mean, the first time she got trapped in the parallel universe it was made clear she would NEVER EVER BE ABLE TO RETURN. And now she's going to do it twice?!

I've heard a lot about flashbacks for these episodes though so is there any chance she's in one of those?

Maybe, because she's only put as a guest star. ^_^

They're all coming back. Seriously ONCE would be good, but EVERY series just milks it.

I think i'm done with Doctor Who now. I'll watch Tenster bow out and thats about it.

Yes. Basically everyone is.

I'd be super excited if it hadn't been done last series, but I still can't wait :D

Plus theres also

The Master

Wow, sounds like a great episode.

I've heard that everyone is returning but I haven't heard anything about Martha coming back. :(

 I'll be very annoyed if they bring everyone back and not Martha

Martha has been the best companion for me so far i was gutted that she only did 1 whole series.

Is she going to be in torchwood again this year.

i think that is possibly a reference to The Master.

Or 4 returning friends or foes.

All that i don't want from the 5th series is there to be another Ood or Cybermen or Dalek or any other reoccurring enemy episode as i just get bored of them. Some more new and innovative enemies would be great.

i'd love for there to be 2 sidekicks, a sexy male to challenge the Doctors manliness and ability to get any women to fall in love with him and a female like Rose or Martha, strong willed.

He will knock four times :kink:

That would I thought when that was said to. ^_^

The past two "Christmas specials" have been utterly disappointing... As for that "Pitch Black" rip-off they did with the Easter special - pretty LAME.....

Bringing back all these characters strikes me as being a bit naff tbh, and I agree with poster who said that it rather renders the whole point of the end of season four a bit redundant....

Billie really did make Rose one of the best loved Dr Who characters - It's no wonder people keep wanting her to reaper. However they can't keep doing this otherwise the excitement will turn into Deja Vu

Ah! Finally found this thread  Anyway, a tincey bit a news extracted from this month's Doctor Who Magazine  I think I must be the only one who buys it :(

The second part of the story is to be called 'The End Of Time', ex James Bond star Timothy Dalton will play 'the Narrator', oh, and the first part will be 60 minutes long, and the second part will be a whopping 75 minutes long! :o

The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith next week (Thu/Fri) with the Doctor, then Water of Mars not too far behind, before the epic of all epic finales (for this Doctor).
