Posted May 21, 200917 yr So apparently the new album is going to have just the one cover on it this time. What do we think it will be this time? On the last album we had covers of "Rock Steady" (Aretha Franklin), "Time Is On My Side" (most famously by the Rolling Stones) and "Ain't That A Lot Of Love" (probably linked to Taj Mahal) which were all old songs, will we get something down that route again? Beverley has covered "Do Right Woman Do Right Man" before, so Aretha coul be a possibility. Maybe she'll go more contemporary and cover someone like Robyn again? Personally I think there's a chance it will be a Chaka Khan track. She's already covered "Sweet Thing" on her Greatest Hits and apparently they've been in touch for a while, Bev performed with her on tour a couple of times. Plus there were rumours of a collaboration with a big star going around a while ago so this could be it. What do you think it could be? What would you like it to be? etc.
May 21, 200917 yr Id love her to try something unexpected and unusual. Aretha's a little bit too predictable, no?
May 21, 200917 yr Author Id love her to try something unexpected and unusual. Aretha's a little bit too predictable, no? Yeah, she's obviously one of her big influences, but it'd be nice to hear something unexpected. I just have a strong feeling it'll will be Chaka Khan related, possibly a duet and cover.
May 21, 200917 yr Author I'd love to hear a studio version of Angels by Bev, if one doesnt exist already? Ooh yes, that'd be lovely. I don't think one exists, only the live version on the Greatest Hits.
May 22, 200917 yr Author Hadouken! - That Boy That Girl obvs :) I bet she doesn't even know them. Bad song anyway. -_- Maybe a Prince track? Ooh yeah, maybe. :o Is it bad that I don't really know any of this songs bar "Purple Rain"? :(
May 23, 200917 yr Author Ooh, id love for her to cover Purple Rain! I have to say, I'm not that fussed with "Purple Rain". I think Bev would make it appealing though.
May 24, 200917 yr Author I can't even remember how Purple Rain goes  I think he just says 'Purple Rain' a lot for a few minutes. :heehee: I only heard it through Ruth on X Factor.
May 24, 200917 yr ^LOL, i've only heard Ruth's version aswell i think. I think it would suit Bev though.
May 24, 200917 yr I think Bev could do it really well. PS they are planning on axing more AF forums so keep posting people.
May 24, 200917 yr Author Ruth's performance was way better than the original imo. I reckon I'd probably enjoy it more by her. ^LOL, i've only heard Ruth's version aswell i think. I think it would suit Bev though. I think it would, Bev could probably belt it out better than Ruth did. PS they are planning on axing more AF forums so keep posting people. Ooh yeah, thanks. I visit every day and I've been trying to keep it active but you can't have a one man forum.
May 24, 200917 yr I think Bev's forum is safe tbh, i wish they'd put the AF chart back up, would be an indicator whos doing well and who's not.
May 26, 200917 yr Author I think Bev's forum is safe tbh, i wish they'd put the AF chart back up, would be an indicator whos doing well and who's not. It should be if we keep active. This is an important time for Bev, so we have to be active. Oh, the collab is apparently with Chaka, so will that be the cover too?
May 26, 200917 yr And if it does get axed, we can just blame Simon. Or Harve. Or Aidan. I've not decided yet.
