Should Little Boots be allowed to represent Kopecka in BJSC XVII or not? Kopecka sent Dead Disco - a group which Little Boots was in - to XVI, and the rule on the matter states the following:

 

Artists used in the prior contest may not be used for the following contest. This only applies to your entry - the artist may be used in the following contest if they were used by another country in the prior contest.

 

By your interpretation of the rule, would Little Boots being entered infringe this rule or not?

No, Little Boots quite clearly is in violation of the Rule. She was part of your previous artist which makes her ineligible for use in XVII for Kopecka

 

Just like i can't use Alex Roots this time, Ben can't use VV Brown and James can't use La Roux and Tom [Kay] can't use anyone of the three lovely ladies from Serebro.

 

Even if they are only a part of the previous act they are still the previous act.

 

And given that Dead Disco is quite clearly Little Boots voice it's a for sure no no from me.

So you can use her in XVIII (if nobody use it before of course :o ). My main arguement against it because you've sent Dead Disco the contest before. It's up to you to choose between Going In For The Cheap or introducing people to new music. :wub:

I think this shouldn't get involved with C argument...but with the rule that u cannot send a same artist twice.

We should really be voting on the rule rather than this particular example...

I don't really consider this overly cheap - it's not as if many people have heard 'Remedy' yet. (Only real Boots fanatics)
