ISTM that nowadays R1 playlisting is not as important as it was. As long as a good song sells enough to go T40, it'll generate its own momentum.

 

For example, when La Roux debuted at #11 on 28/3, it wasn't even T100 on airplay. In fact it never got above T20 on airplay, yet it is the year's 3rd best-selling single now! :cheer:

 

If there was a smiley for a V-sign to radio 1 over it, I'd use it! :)
