Posted June 12, 200916 yr Another Monday, Another preview as to what might happen on next Sunday`s Charts. Thanks to John McManus and Peter Jay in their stores, as usual and all those nice download site people, especially iTunes. My thoughts go to both Peter and John, who will lose their jobs to redundancy at the end of June. Thanks for all your help over the past boys. ;) The Album Preview: 01 01 WEST RYDER LUNATIC ASYLUM - KASABIAN 02 NE MIDLIFE - BLUR 03 02 SUNNY SIDE UP - PAOLO NUTINI 04 03 E.N.D. - BLACK EYED PEAS 05 NE LET IT ROLL - GEORGE HARRISON 06 NE LINES VINES AND TRYING TIMES - JONAS BROTHERS 07 06 CHILLED II - VARIOUS 08 05 LOVE AND WAR - DANIEL MERRIWEATHER 09 NE COMMON DREADS - ENTER SHIKARI 10 43 DAD ROCKS - VARIOUS 11 NE DAD`S JUKEBOX - VARIOUS 12 04 HANDS - LITTLE BOOTS 13 07 RELAPSE - EMINEM 14 41 MATCH OF THE DAY - VARIOUS 15 12 IT`S NOT ME IT`S YOU - LILY ALLEN 16 32 VERY BEST OF - JIM REEVES 17 21 THE FAME - LADY GAGA 18 NE TO DAD FROM MOTOWN - VARIOUS 19 23 BIG TUNES: IT`S IGNITION - VARIOUS 20 11 ULTIMATE POP PARTY - VARIOUS 21 NE NOTES AND RHYMES - PROCLAIMERS 22 08 GREATEST HITS - BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN 23 16 INVADERS MUST DIE - PRODIGY 24 NE KINKS CHORAL COLLECTION - RAY DAVIES 25 NE MEETS MADISON SQUARE GARDEN - MICHAEL BUBLE 26 NE LIVE AT BRIXTON ACADEMY - PENDULUM 27 13 21ST CENTURY BREAKDOWN - GREEN DAY 28 31 ONLY BY THE NIGHT - KOL 29 15 R + B COLLECTION SUMMER 09 - VARIOUS 30 42 CIRCUS - TAKE THAT 31 17 NOW 72 - VARIOUS 32 10 ESCALA - ESCALA 33 33 I AM SASHA FIERCE - BEYONCE 34 NE LIVE IN UKRAINE - QUEEN/PAUL RODGERS 35 26 SKA MANIA - VARIOUS 36 27 ESSENTIAL REGGAE - VARIOUS 37 09 BATTLE FOR THE SUN - PLACEBO 38 18 BOX SET - PINK 39 22 DAY AND AGE - KILLERS 40 28 VERY BEST OF - CAT STEVENS Ashley Tisdale - Guilty Pleasure, and Youth - Kissy Sell Out also enter the combined top 50. Last week we had 9 in the 10, 16 in the 20, 26 in the 30, and 37 in the 40 on the Combined albums. In the singles, we got 9 in the 10, 17 in the 20, 27 in the 30, 36 in the 40, and 47 in the top 50. Back on Sunday 16th June 1991, Radio Luxembourg came up with this: (As presented by Shaun Tilley) 01 01 BABY BABY - AMY GRANT 02 02 SHINY HAPPY PEOPLE - R.E.M. 03 03 SHOOP SHOOP SONG - CHER 04 05 CAUGHT IN MY SHADOW - WONDER STUFF 05 08 HOLIDAY - MADONNA 06 04 I WANNA SEX YOU UP - COLOR ME BAD 07 14 PEOPLE ARE STILL HAVING SEX - LATOUR 08 12 JEALOUSY - PET SHOP BOYS 09 NE THINKING ABOUT YOUR LOVE - KENNY THOMAS 10 07 PROMISE ME - BEVERLY CRAVEN 11 NE MOTOWN SONG - ROD STEWART 12 NE IT AIN`T OVER `TIL IT`S OVER - LENNY KRAVITZ 13 11 WALKING DOWN MADISON - KIRSTY MACCOLL 14 15 LIGHT MY FIRE - DOORS 15 NE ONLY FOOLS (NEVER FALL IN LOVE) - SONIA 16 10 GYSPY WOMAN - CRYSTAL WATERS 17 09 REMEMBER ME WITH LOVE - GLORIA ESTEFAN 18 06 SHOCKED - KYLIE MINOGUE 19 NE DO YOU WANT ME - SALT N`PEPA 20 13 ROBOTS - KRAFTWERK 15 in the 20, for Radio Luxembourg in 1991. They missed Bette Midler (From A Distance), Jason Donovan (Any Dream Will Do), Extreme (Get The Funk Out), Rebel MC (Tribal Base)...They didn`t really miss the Divinyls (I Touch Myself), as this was in the Radio Luxembourg "Next Week`s Top 20", some weeks previous. Lot`s of Charts on offer in 1991...Luxembourg Sunday at 9pm, as well as Radio One (and Mark Goodier), The Network Chart, Capital Countdown Midweek top 40 (Neil Fox on Wednesdays at 7.30pm, and the Full week`s Capital Countdown at 9am, on Saturday mornings. Amy Grant did not get an Official #1. Infact R.E.M. also made #1 on the Luxy Chart. Which was of course, one of the most "guessed" charts going! But sometimes, they did get it correct. The Wonder Stuff was definately a wrong guess, as a follow up to "The Size Of A Cow". Next week on the thread (due to Peter and John`s forthcoming redundancies), we will be combining the Fresh Hits Chart thread with this one (as the Next Week`s Chart Top 30s). Hopefully Tom will help out too, and have a chart, that is much ahead, without any stupidity a la The Big Top 40!
June 15, 200916 yr 09 NE COMMON DREADS - ENTER SHIKARI WHAT NO WAY, ENTER SHIKARI IN THE TOP 10? :o
June 15, 200916 yr I really hope Depeche Mode go top 40 and Freemasons go top 10 by Sunday. :cheer: :yahoo: And over the moon for David & Kelly as well. Good to see Little Boots is still top ten (without compilations) on albums too. :D
June 15, 200916 yr 09 NE COMMON DREADS - ENTER SHIKARI WHAT NO WAY, ENTER SHIKARI IN THE TOP 10? :o  Maybe not in the midweeks. :P
June 15, 200916 yr Maybe not in the midweeks. :P I don't care really, it made #8 w/o compilations on the Chart Preview, good enough. xP Actual prediction: #60
June 15, 200916 yr Author I don't care really, it made #8 w/o compilations on the Chart Preview, good enough. xP Actual prediction: #60 It was actually the 2nd biggest pre-order of new releases in HMV...It may well miss the top ten, but I reckon it will be in the top 20 on the mids...then tail off by next Sunday. Just like the Proclaimers...who were 2nd biggest pre-order in another well known store.
June 15, 200916 yr By the way, I don't know if there's a chart preview top 75, but if so, is Lethal Bizzle anywhere? =/
