Perhaps technically dance but it fits here. Jesus, what a duo, what legends. Such an impact on music even know. Inspirational and we could do with more music like them now. Firing blanks at the Brits? Legends <3 Interesting, contexual and got the tunes to back it up <3

Best moment: Justified And Ancient by my fave female singer ever, the late great Tammy Wynette. "All bound for Mu Mu land"

I thought the brilliant Underworld track "And I Will Kiss" sounded like something the KLF would have done in 1990. The industrial influenced sound was reminiscent of the solid gold classic "It's Grim Up North" where Pete Wylie recites post-industrial towns and cities in Northern England with Jerusalem tacked on at the end.

If I remember correctly the Pete Wylie original version doesn't have Jerusalem on it. Only the Bill Drummond vocal 1991 version credited to The JAMMS

It's all about 1987 What The f***'s Going On - one of THE greatest and most influential albums of all time. Laid so many foundations there for so many things.

One of the biggest gobsmacks I ever had listening to a record.

Shame it got pulled because of all the ABBA samples.

Love the KLF!

I loved the KLF, best act of 1992. I loved their early obscure track too, "Kylie Said To jason". I think was the only one to buy it...

and the Timelords too, hilarious.

I never realised that Jimmy Cauty is married to Alannah Curry (ex- the Thompson Twins). Anyway they were the biz back in 1991 among a myriad of faceless dance bands.

As brilliant as it was the music was not the greatest thing about The KLF.

The myth they created around themselves is their true masterpiece and legacy

Should I be worried that I remember that interview from the time?

You must be pretty old... :P

Didn't see this thread the first time round. Let's not forget that Chill Out is one of the greatest musical experiments of all time. I'd argue it's their best work.
I purchased Chill Out in 2000 on tape and it was sealed. I should never have opened it - I lost it sometime afterwards.

Dunno if that would have been worth anything much - but certainly worth playing it rather than keeping it sealed.

My copy is a knocked off CD I bought around 1997 from the Barras Market in Glasgow.

I think the cd is still relatively easy to come by isn't it?(Chill Out)
