Posted June 19, 200916 yr "And then there's I'm Not Your Toy, which is out after Bulletproof," she adds, "which is much much happier and much brighter and maybe a little easier on the ear for people that couldn't quite grasp In For The Kill, because I know for a lot of people the vocals are quite shrill. http://news.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/hi/music/ne...000/8105125.stm MXNOEmYZyLA   Edited June 19, 200916 yr by Gert Jan
June 19, 200916 yr Nope. STILL not that fussed about the song! Although it's not QUITE as epic as 'Bulletproof' it is definately better than 'In for the Kill'.
June 19, 200916 yr I like 'Bulletproof' but not this. She's not nearly as talented as she gives herself credit for.
June 19, 200916 yr It's incredibly mediocre, I've only liked 'Bulletproof' and 'Quicksand' so far (despite her horrific sounding vocals on the latter) I like 'Bulletproof' but not this. She's not nearly as talented as she gives herself credit for. Agreed totally. In interviews she always implies that she sees herself as some kind of 'innovator'. She's not, it's just style over substance really.
June 20, 200916 yr This is one of my favourites from her etc. But this shouldn't get released as a single at all, especially after Bulletproof which has a very similar tempo/sound etc to it. "Reflections Are Protection" is the only song that's right for 4th single, completely different from her previous 3 and it's the stand out of all her songs imo.
June 20, 200916 yr The chorus is nice enough but the whole song is literally a Bulletproof re-hash, except vastly inferior. The instrumentation in the verses is horrid.
June 20, 200916 yr It sounds good and could be a hit, but like Kath said releasing it straight after Bulletproof isn't really a great idea
June 21, 200916 yr Agreed totally. In interviews she always implies that she sees herself as some kind of 'innovator'. She's not, it's just style over substance really. That's precisely it, so believes her own hype so much! She seems to see herself as some kind of saviour of pop, erm, pop is fine but thanks for asking.
June 22, 200916 yr Author In Ms Jackson's defense... why would you not believe you're a good musician when you try and promote yourself? I think she's just happy to make music and people to enjoy it. Innovator could mean anything, it could be her hairstyle, it could be her significant sound, anything. I honestly think she is an innovator by bringing this kind of music back into the scene and her image. Edited June 22, 200916 yr by Gert Jan
June 22, 200916 yr Oh demiwooz. INYT is nice enough but not really IT. I would've preferred her to have taken the Adele route and re-released Quicksand but there you go :drama: LOL, just look at all of us judging this to be a meh single choice when we haven't even heard the album yet. Anyway, I was like this to begin with with IFTK so I'll almost certainly grow to adore this. Anyway, biatch is an innovator. She's clearly the antithesis of your typical popstar yet against all odds and expectations (even of her and her own label LOL) she's managed to get successful, so clearly she's doing something right :heehee:
June 29, 200915 yr Am I the only one who likes this song?! 'This isn't another girl meets boy'....love it! Edited June 29, 200915 yr by Sinful
August 14, 200915 yr They haven't seen sense and changed the single? I guess if they can do well with this, they can do well with anything. I can't see what appeal this would have in all honesty, it's such a nothing song.
August 14, 200915 yr Released Semptember 28th. Music Video should premiere anytime now. :hithead: Undeserved flop and top 10 record down the drain, here we come ;( Now that I have the album in full, this would easily fit into the bonus track category in comparison to the rest of the album. Such a thick minded single choice, really bizzare. .
