I know what I'd pay for, a collection of his hits in more modern terms of radio edits. I didn't quite realise how long some of his songs were. The 'single version' of "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" is 6 minutes long, the radio edit of "Earth Song" is 5 minutes long etc. :o

I'm accustomed to songs being 3-4 minutes long so listening to a hits collection seems a bit of a chore, as good as the songs are.

Thanks for reminding me :o

Ordered Thriller, Bad, Off The Wall and Number Ones all for £29.08 :D

I'm one of those people who've always loved him but never got around to actually getting any of his albums.. I would rather he was still alive so I could still see him :(

My boyfriend who's a mega fan always bangs on about how great the Dangerous album is...

Man In The Mirror #3 :o I'm certain this is gonna be #1 #1,100, I can feel it in my bones...

Billie Jean #15 :) (20% of top 15 is the King of Pop now)

the only other people i could see getting the type of crazyness is kylie, madonna, diana ross, britney, its because it was so sudden.
I just turned the TV on, went to TMF, it's the weekend starts here MJ, and on 4Music it's MJ stuff
I was gonna say Bad. :D

King of Pop is an okay choice, but I think I should recommend you the Ultimate Colection.

Which one is that - I think there is more than one compilation called "The Ultimate Collection"

Invincible is good. Off The Wall is surprisingly great actually. But if you don't have a best of King Of Pop is good.

I've heard songs from both albums are very good, I might start off with "Of The Wall" for studio albums, since it was his first one he released.

MJ specials have totally overtaken all the music channels, he's gotta get massive airplay this week :o

He's everywhere, even C4 have been playing his vids for the last hour!

Personally I'd rate his studio albums (out of 10):

Off The Wall 10/10

Thriller 9/10

Bad 8/10

Dangerous 6/10

HiStory 7/10 (for the CD of new songs alone)

Invincible 7/10

My all time favourite MJ song is an album track taken from Off The Wall which Justin Timberlake has probably based his entire career on:

Burn This Disco Out

Not sure what's suprrising about Off The Wall - it's generally considered an all-time classic album vying with Thriller as being his best work.

I always found 'Dangerous' to be by far his best album (out of the one's I've listened too) but I grew up to it so that's why.

ANYWAY my ratings:

Off The Wall - will get this tomorrow

Thriller 8/10

Bad 9/10

Dangerous 10/10

HiStory 7/10

Invincible - never heard this, might get it eventually

I know I've contributed to the MJ posts a lot, but it's been ages since we had a post here not related to MJ xD

Off The Wall - 10/10

Thriller - 9/10

Bad - 9.5/10

Dangerous - 8.5/10

History - 8/10

BOTDF - 6/10

Invincible 4/10 (was this needed?!)

I think Invincible is an underrated album.

But for starters he released the heard it all before lame (IMHO) first single "You Rock My World", when there was far, far better on the album. He followed it by releasing the R Kelly by numbers track Cry. Then he virtually gave up promoting the rest of the album.

Personally, I really think he should have come off the block with the tough, edgy very 2001 sounding "2000 Watts" as the lead single with his deeper sounding vocal.

Whilst any album that has something as defiant as Unbreakable; as beautiful as "Butterflies"; or the urban midtempo tune "Break Of Dawn" with a great vocal and a killer chorus is worth listening to.

If you are unsure, check out those tracks on Spotify or Youtube.

Some parts of Invincible are pretty patchy, but never the less it's a pretty good album!

This Michael Jackson download fest is really gonna mess up the 'Big Top 40' on Sunday. :D

'It's so up to date that it's now choc-full of your 80s favourites'

There is a box set called "The Ultimate Collection".

If it's not on iTunes, then "The Essential Michael Jackson" will be a decent substitute.

But, I'm not sure if you don't mind about few of the tracks being re-downloaded...

If you do, "Dangerous" and "HIStory" would be the good ones to listen. ;)

I have Dangerous on CD and Bad on tape, I might upgrade my Bad Album to a CD, and get the King Of Pop over the weekend. I'm going to do my bit, and I might as well download MITM
Expect Florence to climb after Jonathon Ross.
or expect to Florence to fall with MJ effect, everyone download Beat It!! great song
