I hope MJ is at number one for a long time. It's a travesty Man In the Mirror didn't get to no. 1 when it was first released!

I'm just on polyhex now, and I literally CANNOT believe 'Man In the Mirror' only peaked at number 21 :mellow:

I am shocked that Michael Jackson isn't #1 yet. That means Bulletproof (far superior than Man in the Mirror) will be the official #1 on Sunday -- unless he sells huge amounts on Saturday. Also surprised that Jackson 5's Maybe Tomorrow isn't on the chart. It's one of their best.

Indeed - barring the Xmas X-Factor single it's virtually unheard of to sell over 70k in 2 days which is what MJ would require. The added difficulty of course being there's not a single song to choose from so the sales aren't focused on one track.

Don't worry - if she sells the neccessary 70k+ to have a chance of #1, the MJ effect is too fragmented to give any one track a chance of selling *that* many, plus it will start to trail off in a few days time anyway.

 

With this week's chart, given that the MJ tracks have only 2 days sales, i'd be surprised if more than 2-3 make the T40. Next week is when the main flood is likely to arrive, at least in terms of the lower T75.

I hope the MJ effect lasts through next week so we can have a top 75 made of a lot of MJ mixed in with other stuff.

I notice that there are very few MJ songs falling due to being overtaken by other stuff, most are just falling because other MJ songs turn out to be more popular.

The general feeling is Cascada is the next number 1....? Uhm, you people have heard it haven't you? Top 10 at best.

Lady GaGa could be #3 again soon she's gaining on Guetta quite quickly now and if La Roux gets toppled the #1 effect will be gone for her and could see GaGa rise above her in the next week or so.

JLS is released digitally one week before physical from what I've heard, so that may not happen ;)
