June 21, 200916 yr and hey it's just a reservation thread. Nobody have to decide now who they gonna send
June 21, 200916 yr Well if there were a thread then both of those parties would be facilitated... Exactly, it's so unreasonable on their part, if a reservation thread was open they could still take a break and we could reserve our entries but no we have to get the short end of the straw. :nocheer:
June 21, 200916 yr don't worry I know they're not directed at me :P as a past BJSC host yourself, I'm sure you understand that you can't please everyone if I open it now I get criticised by the mods and others for not leaving it a few days when they had specifically instructed 'the winner' to do so in the live final thread if I leave it for a few days, the people eager to get on with reserving get annoyed so like I say, until I get a green light from one of the mods, I'll play by the book, it's entirely in their hands, as soon as they ok it (and I'm online) I'll open the thread Alright, I totally understand that decision, so fair enough. That's not to say I agree with how it's become the only decision you can really come to, or the increasing power the mods seem to have given themselves over the contest itself recently. I still want there to be a reservation thread to be opened as soon as possible for the people who are eager to get going, but I'm becoming less certain about whether I'll be one of them. It seems that every time I visit the forum there is a heated debate going on about something, and yes I admit that I was very much part of this one, but overall it is becoming much more of a chore to work up an interest in what used to be a fun contest.
June 21, 200916 yr I'll be back online tomorrow at some point so will see if any of the mods have been online by that point...if they are insistent on this break (which I'm sure they won't be in the face of this backlash), then I will leave it for a week, if they decide otherwise, I'll open it tomorrow but I have to go now :P
June 21, 200916 yr I do think that it should be confirmed when the resevervation thread should be opened, as in an exact time. It therefore gives all participants an equal chance.

I understand and agree 100% with what you're saying, which is why I nearly pulled out of BJSC a few months ago so now, to avoid arguments, I follow the rules, yet still the arguments follow me :kink: but they need to put it to a vote before making large decisions on behalf of the forum I guess, as Sabrewulf says...when I was a mod I got into a lot of hot water for not putting things up for discussion at all/for long enough

June 21, 200916 yr LMAO. Like with overhyped Kylie - TIP finished 9th!  Just back from Silverstone...... :w00t: I don't know why you are laughing. When I selected Never Leave You I did not think for one minute it stood a cat in hells chance of winning; whilst I found all those predicting it would be a surefire Top 3 finisher totally ridiculous; I was equally appalled by all the cheapness allegations which I fail to see. Whilst I think it is a future UK #1 single, I still fail to see how sending a rapper whose last single topped the Buzzjack hate chart doing a duet with the UK equivalent of Michelle Williams is cheap. Now if it had been Keisha or Mutya I could understand. Quite honestly I think 9th is about the best possible position it could have managed. Personally I'm surprised it broke through the 100 points mark. Needless to say I'd like to thank everyone who voted for it  , as I think it is a brilliant record (although having seen the video, that is less than great, but at least it is no New In Town disaster...), but I don't think it was a BJSC friendly entry certainly compared with the BJSC XVII Top 2 finishers. But I'm still very proud I send it as my entry as I think it is an amazing record, which is what this contest is all about.
June 21, 200916 yr :o I think this is the first time I haven't received a single 12. I think that's more sad than this being my worst finish since VIII. :( Oh well, two 10s and 75 points is great. I know that it was hard to choose the 10 countries I'd give points.
June 22, 200916 yr Thanks Ashton! :) NP Anyone REALLY surprised at Ashton's Top 2?! :P I don't think i've given Jester many points before Oh and Phil too  NP I knew I could rely on Ashton :cheer: Ta Phil  :kink: Thanks Phil! Just Top 10 :cheer: NP Oh yes, and of course many thanks to Phil for the 8  NP :w00t: thanks Phil  See, croos border pointage!!! ah thank you Ashton, another very generous offering of points from our the BJSC's other notorious voting bloc, the Ashton-FSR Rontvia bloc :kink: :kink: We never fail to deliver. OMG! Thanks Ashton!:wub: Emma should have done so much better epic track
June 22, 200916 yr Ashton-FSR Rontvia-Numayania voting bloc :kink: I had been noticing that a little :kink: you were a recent entry into our bloc, Kopecka are a distant part of it too :heehee: They kinda went off the boil a bit didn;t they The results of the semis then.. SEMI 1 http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee65/elbarto678/semi1r.jpg TEXT FORM: 01 | FSR Rontvia | 133 02 | Nonsuch | 121 03 | Numayania | 104 04 | Ben’s Sanctuary | 100 05 | Dalisska | 99 06 | Cadbury | 97 07 | Kingdom Of Shadow | 80 08 | Tinnmark | 77 09 | People’s Republic Of Jester | 76 10 | Skall | 71 11 | Hendinia | 56 [More 12s] 12 | Frahliso | 56 [Less 12s] 13 | Juranabaijan | 55 ------------------------------------------------------------- 14 | New Rivermaya | 48 [One 10, Two 8s] 15 | Ashton | 48 [One 10, One 8] 16 | Utopia | 47 [One 12, Three 10s] 17 | Xyland | 47 [One 10, One 8] 18 | Palmyra | 45 19 | BaNG | 42 20 | Tapatilandia | 33 21 | Land Of Jack | 27 22 | Simondly | 25 23 | Camdonia | 18 Now that is bull$h!te, I reckon i'd have done better then bottom 3 in the final Exactly, over at Esctoday.......in the Nation Song contest they always put it to a vote before making any major changes to the format, If this was put to a vote and having a 5-7 day break won I'd have no problem dealing with it, but it's because it hasn't been put up for a vote and that upsets me. :( also I think some sort of definite format should be made up so that we're not having little breaks every now and then randomly just when somebody decides they'res too much bjsc overkill.........like maybe every three/four contests there could be a weeks break or something?Actually we used to run this contest on a 3week pattern with a week break inbetween each contest. So this ain't new. We are just bringing back the week gap for the good of the contest. People can get sick of it, which is why we so nearly switched to a contest every two months format a year ago. And for the record. I see the Mods as people who are trying to improve the contest, and keep it's membership high. As well as doing the other mod duties like closing and pinnin threads. So i say, wait a week before Confirmation/Reservation threads please.
June 22, 200916 yr Thanks James for doing this! :D Sad I didn't get to stay for the rest of the results... So Britmasu didn't do that great but it wasn't too terribly bad! Thanks to all who voted for Peaches! I think Mandy's new single was still the best result in a final for Britmasu. :o I can't believe Peaches JUST qualified for the finals!! Of course it was nice getting in. Don't have much of an idea for the next contest yet. :heehee:

June 22, 200916 yr Thank you very very VERY much for the 12 pointer  Your welcome! :D Still loving that song. I'm not afraid to give it a lot of points even though some people may think of it as 'cheap'. :kink:

All i'm saying is that you were right :o

But I'm still very proud I send it as my entry as I think it is an amazing record, which is what this contest is all about. Whilst I don't deny that Beautiful Small Machines is BJSC friendly (although that's not the reason I sent it - it was merely a track that I really wanted to introduce people to), I still think it's a lot harder to get people to blanket vote for a completely unknown song and artist than somebody who already has a fanbase although this does of course throw up the issue that I mentioned a few days ago that well known artists are also more subject to prejudice, which is why I don't send them...hopefully people listened to Never Leave You with an open mind though rather than just thinking 'I hate Tinchy so I won't like this' :heehee: I am surprised it only came in 9th because it is a great track and I expected top five at least...I honestly don't think as many people have a problem with Tinchy Stryder as you may think though...he has released three stellar pop/rap crossover songs this year and Number 1 did extremely well in the personal charts of many participants here, despite topping the hate chart... it was also a top ten hit in the multichart in spite of the fact that it features the almost universally BJSC hated act N-Dubz, which is a fact that can't be ignored :o
