A song which splits opinion but more often than not seems simply to highlight the difficulty some naysayers have in grasping the finer points of pop, 'Get Sexy' is the first track from a newly invigorated Sugababes and it more than justifies the band's recent jaunts to record in the States. 'Get Sexy' is a punchy, explosive pop single which while not being quite as adventurous as it thinks it is could never be described as pedestrian. Sugababes are back...

Ok, so the HQ improves my view as always! Anyone else think the riff, particularly in the chorus sounds a bit like "Let it Rock" by Kevin Rudolf and 'Lil Wayne?

It does feel like it has the X-factor to hit no1. I never felt Girls had that even though it was catchy and radio loved it, giving it massive exposure.

I hope they combine physical and digital release, bands who've done that more recently have really maximised 1st week sales, rather than the 4-point trickle feed of release that was Girls. It may get good overall sales that way, but position suffers imho

The problem with Girls was that nobody knew about the digital release and it was like a snow on our heads. Now they have announced already that the digital release would be on 16th Aug.

 

And besides... Release it on 31th Aug and you will get a massive competitor - Dizzee Rascal and you will almost certainly say 'Bye Bye' to #1. So, now they have made a clever move relesing it 2 weeks before the physical. Now I wonder if Tinchy&Amelle could get their #1 and the Sugababes overtake them. :lol: It would be the year of Amelle then.

I hope this grows on me. Doesnt sound too spectacular on first listen.

*It does sound different from their previous work, and it excites me more then most of the singles they released during the Change/C&S era..! They did need a change to survive!

For now I like the song, but I'm still not 100% sure about it..! Hopefully the video will be good!

I'm still waiting for this to click with me, surely they had a better song to come back with, it even comes across a bit embarasing at time I just dont think it really suits them.

So i have it on my iPod, and i really really adore.

 

It's gonna be f***ing huge. My mate who studies in the US reckons it'll be big over there. You can tell they are going to crack the states with this album. If this track is anythin to go by there will be no trying, it'll be a they will break the US.

The HQ is brilliant.

 

I'm not too keen on the newer 'I'm too sexy' part though. I preferred 'I'm so sexy' from the demo. Meh.

Other than that, I really like it! Their best single since 'Push the Button' for me.

It's awful in more of the obvious ways, but there's something charming about it at the same time... Regardless, as everybody else has said, I reckon it'll be a hit though. ^_^

I'm so on the fence about this, the lyrics are awful but like people have said the beat and production are amazing. Hmm ... it'll have to grow, still at least it's better than the dire 'Girls' which would never have been hard really.

I think it will be a hit, i didn't buy "Change" or "Catfights and Spotlights" but i'm definitely tempted to give this album a go on the strength of "Get Sexy".

I'm still 50/50 at the minute. It could have been worse but still could have been better.

It Says on wikipedia it is going to be released inn america does anyone know if it is?

It most likely will, since they signed a record contract with Jay-Z's label. ;)
