Posted July 7, 200916 yr Michael Jackson’s hold on the singles chart may be dying off, with just one of his tracks in the top 20 according to midweek sales flashes, but his dominance of albums holds. Jackson’s Man In the Mirror (Epic), which narrowly missed out on the number one singles slot this week, has fallen to three in OCC midweek sales flashes, behind current number one Cascada’s Evacuate the Dancefloor (AATW / UMTV) and La Roux’s Bulletproof (Polydor). On the albums chart, Jackson’s The Essential (Epic) is currently running second to Florence And The machine’s Lungs (Island), although it remains to be seen if Lungs will have the staying power to triumph this Sunday, particularly with the media attention surrounding Jackson’s funeral today (Tuesday). The rest of the top five consists of Jackson’s Off The Wall and Number Ones and La Roux’s debut, while both Thriller and Thriller 25 are in the top 10. There are a further four Jackson or Jackson 5 releases within the top 20. Among new albums, Cascada’s Evacuate The Dancefloor set (AATM / UMTV) should make the top ten, while new albums from The Duckworth Lewis Method (Divine Comedy) and The Benny Andersson Band (Polydor) should challenge for the top 30. On the singles chart, there is little good news for fresh talent: Chipmunk’s Diamond Rings (Jive) should lead the new entries, challenging for the top 10, while singles from the much-fancied VV Brown and Kid British may miss the top 40. July 7, 200916 yr I wouldn't be surprised to see Cascada at No.2 in both charts behind La Roux/Florence respectively...
July 7, 200916 yr I reckon Cascada will be no1 again, followed by La Roux at 2. Michael Jackson seems to be descending alot on itunes
July 7, 200916 yr Reckon it'll be Cascada -> La Roux -> Guetta in today's mids, but it'll change by Sunday with Chipmunk, Gaga and possibly The Arctics all overtaking Guetta.

July 7, 200916 yr I don't think it'll be Chipmunk - even leaving aside my own opinion of the song, a potential #1 will normally top the iTunes chart very quickly - and this one hasn't... I don't think they will get #1 either - I was thinking they'll overtake for the #3 position, hence why I said they'd overtake Guetta and not the other 2.
July 7, 200916 yr Nice to see that Little Boots album is rising. The same for Freemasons and Sophie. I really wish that paparazzi was number 3, which is not very far, but with the Arctic Monkeys new song and the Chipmunk thing it will be very difficult
July 7, 200916 yr Updated :) Pleased Jordin is top 10. Thanks. Great for Jordin :cheer: She'll need to overtake whoever is @ #8 to hang on in the top 10 though as Arctic's will be coming ... Paparazzi isn't far off Guetta and should easily overtake by the end of the week, along with Jacko. Whether she'll end up at #3 or pushed down to #4 or #5 by Chipmunk/Arctic's remains to be seen. Positions for Ciara (Work), Kid British (OHID), Little Boots (Remedy) and The Maccabees (CYGI) please RyRy? :) Also, is it just the normal missing data?

Jordin has a battle (no pun intended) to stay top 10. Only 4 copies ahead of #11. Ciara 50+2 Kid British 60-4 Little Boots 55+3 The Mac 99+1
July 7, 200916 yr Ryry do you have u2 and placebo charts position?thanks U2 - NLOTH 140-1 Placebo - BFTS 140+4

Ciara 50+2 Kid British 60-4 Little Boots 55+3 The Mac 99+1 Thanks!! :) Hope Jordin can hang in there, she should be gathering steam away from the current #11, but its the Arctic's that will stop her inevitably I fear ... :(
July 7, 200916 yr Woohooo fantastic...Agnes climbs to 6 and Jordin Sparks top 10...hope they maintain their positions.
July 7, 200916 yr Author I'm glad Florence + The Machine are #1, but I don't think it can sustain it after today, with Jacko's funeral.
