Not that I particularly like Florence & The Machine but his fans are stopping other artists getting that much-valued No.1 position when he's already had his day. What a ridiculous thing to say. Would you have a grudge against Elvis getting a number 1 album? What about the Beatles? They most certainly have had their day too. Every artist is entitled to have a number 1 album if the sales merit it. Plus, I highly doubt the people buying these hits albums over the past couple of weeks have been what you would could call 'proper' MJ fans. MJ fans already have these songs and aren't buying them again in large numbers. The people buying these are more likely new fans discovering the music for the first time and perhaps ex-fans who are just discovering the music again. The sales he has achieved in the past couple of weeks here and across the world in Australia, USA, France (and many other countries) just shows how massive his legacy is. According to official sales figures, he sold nearly 5 million downloads in the US alone since he died. BTW he was the first artist ever to achieve more than 1million downloads in a single week when he sold 2.6million shortly after he died!
