July 26, 201113 yr You're exaggerating the pull of Twilight I think. Yes, fans will go mad for it - but they're pretty much only going to get the female 10-40 demographic aren't they? Harry Potter has fans of both sexes and all ages.
July 27, 201113 yr oh wow thanks for the explanation Daniel! Tempted to read the books now YOU'VE NEVER READ THE BOOKS?!?!
July 27, 201113 yr Now at #27 with sales of $833,939,281 :D http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_highest-grossing_films :o That's mental.. YOU'VE NEVER READ THE BOOKS?!?! I hadn't even seen the films til a few weeks ago! :( I even have like 3 of the books but I've just never bothered reading them. Will be cheaper if I do now though I suppose.. July 27, 201113 yr OMG Harry from The Only Way Is Essex talking about Diagon Alley: 'It's like a shopping centre for wizards!'
July 27, 201113 yr That was hilarious, but his Lady GaGa one was better - "I think that should be Lady GaGa's next move; a talking hat."
July 27, 201113 yr Anyone else never realized until David Yates said it, about the Hippogriff taking a poop :o I never noticed it before
July 27, 201113 yr It's not a bad #1, just anti-climatic. I guess it could've just been a selection of best moments from the series, rather than taking form of a countdown, because the scene is memorable and quite epic, but it just feels weak compared to the rest of the series - which just goes to show how strong the films have been as a set.
July 27, 201113 yr Dumbledore's death should have been no.1... As for the film, I saw it today. The best of the lot, pretty much perfect if you haven't read the books. As I have (Deathly Hallows twice) I found it far too easy to nitpick. So, in conclusion: Deathly Hallows (book) >>>> Deathly Hallows Pt. II >>>>>>>> other films
July 27, 201113 yr Obviously moments like NOT MY DAUGHTER YOU BITCH etc. would be really high up if they were taking the last film into account. SNAPE 4 NUMBER ONE
July 27, 201113 yr You're exaggerating the pull of Twilight I think. Yes, fans will go mad for it - but they're pretty much only going to get the female 10-40 demographic aren't they? Harry Potter has fans of both sexes and all ages. I think your underestimating it slightly; both series moved from autumn releases to a summer slot with their third movies - while POA stumbled and declined and became the least grossing Potter film to date, Eclipse coped fine with the move and became the highest grossing of the series in the US to date. Now with Breaking Dawn being marketed as the last one, and seeing how much of a bump that gave the Deathly Hallows movies during their opening weekends (DH 1 took $125m) I think there's a reasonable chance that it could break it. The last Twilight films and The Dark Knight Rises are the only films I can see having a shot before Avatar 2. Edited July 27, 201113 yr by Daniel II
August 2, 201113 yr $1,008,911,602 *_* 8th highest grossing film of all time too! Today $1,012,239,842 and the biggest grossing Harry Potter film... :D http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_highest-grossing_films
August 2, 201113 yr How much further do we think this can go? Do we think it could go top 5? Possibly. I'm one of the people who haven't seen it yet, so I don't see why it can't. :D
August 3, 201113 yr How much further do we think this can go? Do we think it could go top 5? I think it will get to about #4 as it's doing 4-5 million a day.
