December 17, 200915 yr I shockingly agree with everything said here. A stunningly good album in every way  the shock is because, No One aside, I couldn't care less about anything Alicia's ever done before :o
December 17, 200915 yr I shockingly agree with everything said here. A stunningly good album in every way  the shock is because, No One aside, I couldn't care less about anything Alicia's ever done before :o Wow. How much of a go did you give her first three albums? I've yet to listen to this album, but I find her to be one of the most consistently brilliant artists of the decade. Each album is great and contains something that has gone down as a classic in my eyes. Based on the comments for this album, I'm sure she's done it again. Her music is beautiful. "If I Ain't Got You", "Superwoman", "Like You'll Never See Me Again", "A Woman's Worth", "Lesson Learned" etc. are all lovely. On the plus side, you liking her now must suggest she's further improving, something I didn't think was possible.
December 17, 200915 yr Got my copy of this today. Stunning I must say. ^_^ Empire State Of Mind v2 is fantastic, I was bored of Jay-Z's version but this just makes me love it all over again. Also, I absolutely love Unthinkable.

I guess her new material just clicks with me more somehow ^_^

You might find they'd click, now you're won over, I got mine cheap in one of those Sony BMG cardboard double disc things. I'm glad she clicks with you now.

You might find they'd click, now you're won over, I got mine cheap in one of those Sony BMG cardboard double disc things. I'm glad she clicks with you now. it seems to happen a few times a year - artists I've never liked before suddenly become great to me, yet for some reason I still don't care at all for their older material - Anna Abreu was the other one this year, I really couldn't care less about hearing her older material as I'm uninterested in older singles I've heard by her but I'm addicted to her new album :D in 2006 I became obsessed with Nelly Furtado, so bought both Whoa Nelly and Folklore and wasn't interested in them at all - I guess some era's just suit my music taste more than others. Take Madonna, Hard Candy was really underwhelming for me but then I loved the whole Confessions era - it's odd how momentum swings with every era for some of these big artists. Take Rihanna and Mariah Carey - one I love (Rated R) and one I am disappointed by (Memoirs), although I know it's vice versa for you - yet they are two of my favourite artists of all time and similarly Rihanna has albums I dislike and Mariah has albums that I adore  I might give Alicia's other albums a whirl on Spotify though
December 17, 200915 yr I'm not that familiar with the debut album yet but the 'Alicia essentials' I'd suggest to you are Heartburn, Like You'll Never See Me Again and Where Do We Go From Here.
December 19, 200915 yr Author Sales in the US are bloody awful at the moment  However, she's looking very strong for a Top 3 placing. Thanks to Britster... CHART PREVIEW December 18, 2009 No big surprise at the top of the chart next week, as Susan Boyle logs her fourth consecutive week at #1. This is only the second time this year an album has remained at #1 for four consecutive weeks—Taylor Swift's Fearless held onto the top spot for seven consecutive weeks beginning on Dec. 14, 2008. Swift has been #1 a total of seven non-consecutive weeks this year, and 10 non-consecutive weeks overall. As for debuts, the big question is: Will the next two days be strong enough for Alicia Keys that she’s able to catch Andrea Bocelli for #2? With the final weekend before Christmas upon us, next week's chart is a welcome present for the industry. Here's how it looks seven days before the big holiday: * Susan Boyle (I Dreamed A Dream) - 600-650k * Andrea Bocelli (My Christmas) - 400-420k * Alicia Keys (The Element of Freedom) 370-390k (NEW) * Taylor Swift (Fearless) - 250-270k * Carrie Underwood (Play On) - 130-150k * Michael Buble (Crazy Love) - 130-150k * Lady GaGa (The Fame) (original & deluxe) - 125-135k * Justin Bieber (My World) - 125-135k * Glee (Vol 2) - 110-120k * Michael Jackson (This Is It) - 110-120k * Lady GaGa (The Fame Monster) (EP) 110-120k * Robin Thicke (Sex Therapy) - 110-120k (NEW) * Glee (Vol 1) - 100-110k
December 19, 200915 yr 370k+ is great frankly. Barely anybody gets such huge sales four albums into their career when all three previously have gone triple platinum or above.
December 20, 200915 yr Author Yeah. Putting it like that, I agree. Also, incredible sales (But shit position) here in the UK! 16 Michael Jackson 74,009 17 Alicia Keys 69,076 18 Soldiers 63,492 I'll GLADLY accept those
December 20, 200915 yr a new entry as high as #17 in xmas week is a huge achievement! once all the rubbish clears out it will hopefully climb, particularly with the aid of the KILLER second single in the new year

December 22, 200915 yr I knew she'd come through. It's a shame Susan Boyle has taken the world by storm, it's hard to imagine AK not reaching #1 with one of her albums. Hopefully she'll get there eventually, which could happen seeing as "Try Sleeping with a Broken Heart" is taking off now.
December 27, 200915 yr Author Second week in the UK chart and a non-mover at 17 with sales of 52,703!! :D! AMAZING Total UK sales to date are: 121,779! Only 2 weeks in and with a peak of 17! BRILLIANT!
January 5, 201015 yr Author Monday's mids! The album looks set to get a new peak of 11 so far! :D! 'Doesn't Mean Anything' is having good staying power. Only dropping 2 places from last weeks #25 position! I think it's time to start sending 'Try Sleeping With a Broken Heart' to radio's and TV Channels!
January 8, 201015 yr Put It in a Love Song is amazing. I must get this album. ;o Looks very promising.
January 8, 201015 yr I like AK since the 1st album. "Doesn't Mean Anything" means so much! ^_^ =========================================================== ~www.swanky-ent.com~ Splashy Music Publishing is a One Stop Shop for Your Music Licensing Needs Edited January 8, 201015 yr by pradoswank
January 11, 201015 yr 'Put It In A Love Song' will be the third single, impacting rhythmic radio on 19th January. I'm so glad they've chosen this, as it's one of my favourite on the album. And Beyoncé will get another hit this year. Source.
January 11, 201015 yr Author Brilliant choice! This era is going PERFECTLY so far! I really cannot wait to see the video for that! :o
