I completely agree. :wub: 'TSWABH' should hopefully go top 20 in the UK, with 'PIIALS' going top 15 due to Beyoncé. I hope the video's better than 'Video Phone' though. :\

I'm hoping they don't completely skip over it here after seeing the success of the solo "Empire State Of Mind". But I suppose that'll be a bonus hit, TSWABH is too good to ignore. I just can't see it being very big here, whereas I can see "Put It In A Love Song" getting support and people downloading without her relying on a major performance.

I think 'Try Sleeping...' will be a minor hit, it's already Top 300 (I know, not much) on iTunes without any promo/air/videoplay so it's doing okay at this stage. I reckon Top 10 for it beckons, it's too stunning of a song not to do well.

Keys to release solo version of 'Empire'

Alicia Keys will release her own version of recent Jay-Z collaboration 'Empire State Of Mind', it has been announced.

 

The track, entitled 'Empire State Of Mind Part II', just features Keys and will be released on February 22.

 

The song is lifted from the singer's new album The Element Of Freedom, which also includes the single 'Doesn't Mean Anything'.

 

Discussing the record, Keys claimed that it acts as a dichotomy of strength and vulnerability.

 

"The music is really strong, and the drums are really aggressive, but my voice is vulnerable and delicate," she said.

 

Keys recently announced a string of UK live dates as part of her European tour.

ESOM Part 2 is amazing but everyone who wants it has one version or the other just release TSWABH before this era dies like the last one.

Just a two place drop for TEOF, however she is on JONATHAN ROSS on Friday and the acts who perform on his show nearly always get an album boost and we could see her challenging for Top 5 this week and (fingers crossed) number 1 next week! EXCITING!

Just performed 'Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart' on Jonathan Ross :wub: Pleasently surprised she did. I was certain she'd do 'Empire State Of Mind (Part II)'. Glad she didn't as she needs to give TSWABH a bit of a boost as ESOM is doing well on it's own. She was soooo good :wub:

I watched the whole show, and Alicia was amazing as a guest, her personality just shines through. :wub: I'm pleasantly surprised she sung 'Try Sleeping with a Broken Heart', too, but I'm also very glad. ^_^ I hope her albums climbs in the coming weeks, too. :D

I wonder what performing "Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart" will do in the long term. Radio has jumped on "Empire State Of Mind Part II" already, so I doubt they'll pick up this just yet, it'll probably start to fall again on Monday. I suppose it's good that she's likely to get more hits out of it this way, they just should have gone ahead with this song from the start, as it has a video etc.

Ugh, I missed it. I swear her live vocals are getting weaker recently too. I thought she was a bit off on the X Factor and at times on the last Youtube concert she did, but I thought it might be temporary. This doesn't bode well for the tour. :(
