hmmm... I don't know where to start with this epsiode I was expecting more to it. Its a bit shoddy in places, I'm starting to lose faith in the new Dr. he looks like a right pansy just running around like a headless chicken, I want David Tenant back at least he took it more seriously. And that crack again is going to be a recurring thing every week. Anyhow 5/10 for today's episode.

Next week looks better, but I keep on saying that each week so I take it with a pinch of salt for now.

Mmmmm, 3 episodes in and I think I can (sadly) safely say that the shark has been jumped.

A very promising start to the episode, that just like (that immoral womanising thug - yes I've been keeping an eye on ESPN Spurs v Chelski) John Terry this season promised much, but badly fell apart in the second half.

I don't know whether to laugh or groan at the new Daleks = new BMW Mini's rip offs with their coloured schemes.

But it is becoming massively clear that whilst the writing is as good or better than the previous 4 series; the direction and pacing of the episodes is sadly inferior to the RTD years.

5/10

I actually really liked this episode, a lot more action than last week and a clearer storyline

I would give it a 7 or an 8, next weeks looks great :)

Thoroughly enjoyed that ep! Would have benefited from being a 2-parter but my fav Dalek ep for sure since 'Dalek'. Despite that actually am pleased it was a single story ep - which sets up events for the finale I expect.

Enjoying Matt much more than I enjoyed David in his first series. Amy fabulous as ever. Dying to know more about her - that bloody crack and her not remembering the Daleks.

The new Daleks are hilariously fantastic - iDaleks :P

Only complaint was that I had the volume loud just to try and hear the dialogue as the music was so bloody loud!

I thought this episode was decent enough. And it feels good to finally have the Daleks seemingly back as a proper galactic empire rather than these weakened hybrid things running around in small gangs (what exactly do you call a group of Daleks?) giving it all the talk but no substance.

Anyway Churchill was great, Matt was good and I like his anger. Not enough Amy in this one though.

And people keep going on about the crack but has anyone else noticed that The Doctor keeps being late? Possibly signifigant or just a trait of his incarnation?

The Doc being late defo has to be signifigant in some way. Thrown in very casually but highlighted once again!

Also worth remembering; the town where Amy is from - Leadworth is an anagram of Dr Who Late [or Dr Who Tale :P]

Yes, the lateness, the crack and Amy not remembering the Daleks are all bound to come together by the end of the series.

I must say I loved the idea of a Dalek offering a cup of tea

That was genius. I also liked the jammie dodger - they just don't get enough serious drama roles these days.

I thought the episode was okay tonight, my only problem was it all a bit too short, and needed perhaps a 2 parter.

8/10

Edited by Mark.

It wasn't a bad episode and like TIP says the writing in particular was excellent, it was just still missing something.

And SIGH at yet another glaringly obvious crack.

I don't think the crack is going to be the main plot for the final few episodes.

I do see it being very important but not the most important - it's almost too obvious now lol.

Do hope they tone it down though - Bad Wolf was spread throughout S1 amazingly with great subtlety. We get it - there's a crack and it's connected to Amy.

Another disappointment really. Moffat's ruining Who.

Ep 1: Meet The Doctor/TARDIS

Ep 2: Meet Amy

Ep 3: Meet the new Daleks

Enough of introducing us, and get on with it please! Hopefully the Angels will return and save the series, seeing as Blink is one of the best New Who episodes!

EDIT: Although the episode has given me a new avatar :kink:

poorest episode on the new era...... it was a non story that dragged out to 45 minutes...it could have been concluded in 25. didnt like smith trying to do a tennant in his loud gasps and exclaimations. i see no reason why the daleks didnt exterminate the dr when he was winding them up and telling them to kill him. in fact, as their deadliest enemy they had loads of chances to kill the dr... and he didnt seem to register that... barmy.

as for the new daleks.... yawn.... i guess when the 13th dr has his final episode, he will eventually kill the daleks along with himself.

Another great episode last night! I wasn't really looking forward to having another Dalek episode, but I really enjoyed it. I'm not sure what I think of the new Daleks yet though.

They seem to be making the crack way too obvious. And with Amy not remembering the planets in the sky and the Daleks, it must have something to do with the Doctor being late.

I don't think the 13th doctor is going to be the last one. They will come up with something ^_^

Well The Master got around it so it has precedent

You obviously weren't paying enough attention. The daleks needed the Doctor to explicitly state that they were the daleks and who he was otherwise the dalek paradigm wouldn't recognise them due to their hybrid nature. Once they had his testimony their priority was to activate it. Daleks have always been single minded in pursuit of their prime objective and prone to missing out on other opportnites. It's long been a distinct weakness. After they teleported the Doctor convinced them he'd blow them all up so they resisted killing him. The other big flaw with the daleks is their supreme arrogance. They just love the sound of their own voices and like to waffle on about how great they are and again overlook opportunities (just like most Bond villains).

Their great plan though was to restore the pure Dalek Empire and killing The Doctor was secondary and could essentially wait. If the daleks had actually always been so intent on killing him they could have done it every single time thy've met right back to the Hartnell days. Seems perfectly in keeping with the shows tradition to me
