That was really hard, since I love It's not me, it's you and I was so certain it was going to be my entry, but then She Lion showed up and changed everything. But it's definitely changed for the better! :)

I've listen to both songs too, I like "It's Not Me, It's You" more then "She Lion" :o

I think She Lion could be more of a grower, it was close between the two songs but I had to go with what felt right in the end.

Unfortunately there is now a waiting list for the contest...it is unlikely you'll be able to participate as you didn't participate in the previous contest and the current waiting list has 5 or so countries on it, which takes us to our limit. If you join the waiting list now though, it's likely you'll be able to participate next month! ^_^

Is there no way that we can exceed the maximum country limit to 54/55 or do something to accomodate these countries? I hate the idea of people missing out when they want to participate, especially long running countries :snif:

seriously, I will be pissed of if one day u will tell me that I need to be on waiting list...why not exceed to 60 countries.

I don't like the waiting list idea much either, but a 54-5 country contest is crazy! I hope I don't have to be the first one to run three semis :(

It's a thought, but this contest changes so much each time, and countries that come last might have come first last time, that I think it just wouldn't be fair...

I like the idea of relegation actually :heehee: if you end up bottom of your semi, you have to find a much better song to compete for your place even in the semis the following month!

 

Having said that, it's just another time consuming round that a lot of people would probably refuse to vote in -_- I like the idea though!

That is the huge downside to the idea, as countries will be far more likely to undertake a "risk aversion strategy".

 

But if you like the concept I would have worked it along the lines of say:

 

The Top 39/40 countries from the previous Semi Finals pre-qualify for the next contest.

 

The worst performing Semi Finalists (who should know their fate immediately following the Semi Final results) join those from the Waiting List to participate in the pre-qualifying/Play-off for the following contest.

 

All these countries will have from the Semi Final Results are announced until the Final Results of the last contest, to come up with their entry, which this Play-off contest then takes place immediately after the last contest. So that they will know who has qualified in time for that next contest's Semi Finals.

 

I would propose only those participating in the Semi-Final pre-qualifying contest vote in this contest.

I bought some dance compilation back in summer 2005... Big Tunes 2 or something it was called, and it was on that. Great song!
