I don’t know I could see them doing DJ as a group it’s kind of steps but also kind of different like another evolution in their music.

DJ could have worked for Steps but the Another You Another Me material in general would not.

I suppose there's a possibility that some of the tracks could have gone to Steps in a parallel universe where they'd stayed together and released an album in 2002, because the H & Claire album does feature usual Steps writers such as Andrew Frampton, Karl Twigg, Mark Topham.

But it's hard to say whether the Another You Another Me tracks only eventuated because they were written in mind of H & Claire as a duo and the sound that they'd have, as opposed to what they might have come up with for Steps if they'd remained together?

H & Lisa did an Instagram live a couple of months ago and at one point 'Lately' was referenced (they both sang a bit of it) and then H mentioned 'DJ' and Lisa said she'd never heard it! I don't think that story is still online unfortunately but it was a funny moment, they both laughed, so H didn't seem fussed by this revelation :kink:

God this was hilarious another excellent moment from Lisa

I can see Steps performing DJ as a group on what would have been there 5th album, in fact apart from beauty and the beast, all the singles sound like they could be. I am not sure about the album as I have to this day still not heard it oops...

That’s because you didn’t join the listening party you total scab.

All Out of Love sounds like a Steps song. It would absolutely worked for them.

I agree it was the most steps sounding song from them.

My only thing is, wouldn't 'All Out of Love' for Steps have sounded a bit passé by 2002? I imagine if it were a Steps single at that point it'd almost come off as being self-parody.

I distinctly remember listening to the chart show and the presenter (I'm pretty sure that week was Jo Whiley) said after playing 'All Out of Love' as a new entry at #10 "Don't blame me, you bought it"

Hahaha, really?

I mean it's not that bad.

I'd say Jo Whiley woukd have said the same about steps aswell as I doubt she is a pop music fan.

Haha fair enough. TBF I don't know much about her. I remember when she use to do the Live Lounge.

I remember once she also stopped playing 'Jenny From The Block' halfway through and said "sorry, I cannot bear to listen to another second of that song"
