DJ and Chess are my favourites so far...not got into anything else quite as much so far but I reckon they'll be growers

very different to the debut, the early 90's influence is so evident, but moreso 1988-1992 I'd say, it's very Black Box meets early Kylie Minogue in places production wise, the stuttering vocal effects and clunky piano...a couple of the songs sound like the recent Bloc Party songs actually

they should have covered Ride On Time and What Do I Have To Do as bonus tracks :kink:

I'd have liked them if they sounded like recent Bloc Party songs :kink: :heehee:

Yeah, well, anything can happen on the UK release  Really confused as to whether that's out on November 2 or sometime in January btw... But anyway, DJ is also a fav right now, but I love Heart Failure more  Heat Wave too

Seeing these guys live tonight - can't wait :w00t:

Three words - amazing amazing amazing :win: Will post more when sober :kink:

YEAH THAT'S RIGHT SIMON! KICK A MAN WHILST HE'S DOWN!

 - We're supposed to be brothers! Me you and Theo :snif:

It's at times like this you learn who your friends are :kink:

Anyway, I'm not one, cos I can't remember the set list  A new band with the stupid name of Ou Est Le Swimming Pool supported, but they were actually pretty great. The venue was tiny, packed to the rafters. They did roughly half old material and half new, plus a cover of Aint Nobody (UK bonus track much :kink:) Best tracks, Heart Failure, The Spell, Boyfriend (really sweet moment with mine ) and an amazing extended encore of Fascination. Only one disappointment for me - no Fantastic 6 :( But nothing big really, superfantastic otherwise!

I keep missing out on seeing them, they're often in Brighton but I always seem to find out the day before they play, and already have plans  they were brilliant last year though!

this album is bizarre...it's good, I can hardly compare it to the last album because they feel like they come from different time periods...I don't like it as much as This Is Alphabeat at this moment in time but it's growing with each listen

It's true, it's like Popjustice said, it's kind of difficult to know who they are from it, it almost seems like a totally different band... do love it though. Shame that the album will not be released until 15 February 2010 (can see it being canxed if single #2 flops too :()
I heard on wikipedia that single number 2 would be 'DJ' which is good. :D
Yeah, decent choice, but I'm not sure I can see it as a huge hit... Heart Failure or Heat Wave would be better i think.
About an hour and a half I think? I don't really remember, it felt like seconds  It took them ages to come on tho, it was 7pm doors, and the support band wasn't on until about 8:45...

dare I say it, I don't think anything else on the album at all screams hit single if The Spell couldn't even go above #20 :snif:

DJ won't trouble the top 20 and it's the most instant song on there besides The Spell
