Mayor Bloomberg Predicts Lady GaGa Will Win Big At VMAs



MTV.com – So, who does Bloomberg like this year? Lady GaGa and Beyoncé have each garnered nine nominations and will face off in categories like Video of the Year and Best Female Video.

“I’m betting on you!” he told Sway. “Absolutely. I think you and Lady GaGa — the big stars. [she's] an NYU graduate.” (Actually, Mr. Mayor, GaGa dropped out of NYU to devote herself to the music scene.)

Shakira, Lady GaGa — our hats off to the mayor for knowing his stuff. He also happens to hang out with top recording artists from time to time, like Alicia Keys, who will perform with Jay-Z at this year’s VMAs.

Rumours are it's a LG/Pap medley tonight. I'd like someting on the scale of the Much Music performance. :wub:

Lady GaGa wanted to walk down the red carpet with a lion at the MTV Music Awards (VMAs).
The eccentric pop star demanded a bizzare array of items for her performance at the ceremony - including the dangerous big cat - in an attempt to "upstage" every other pop star attending.
A source said: "It sparked a war backstage as GaGa was clearly trying to upstage the biggest acts. While the likes of Beyoncé Knowles kept their riders simple, Lady GaGa wanted to make a grande entry."
"As well as a plush dressing room with all the usual demands of champagne and fluffy towels, she wanted a jungle animal.
Her people left a list of companies which provide tamed, trained lions and a formal request was lodged with VMA organisers."
However, the "Poker Face" singer's demands were ignored as the 23-year-old blonde walked down the red carpet alone in a dramatic long black dress with a high feather neck and a black and gold eye patch.
The source added: "There were obvious health and safety concerns".

The performance was f***ing beyond brilliant LOL. I honestly have no words on first watch I literally had an anxiety attack at how perfect her voice, how she looked, the whole set up and theme was. It all came together so well. Artistic masterpiece.

She really is a true performer, wonder if she or anybody could ever top this! The fresh version of it was so beyond WUB. Paparazzi to return to #1 on my chart for a twelvth week :o, the whole Kanye West chaotic mess won't help the Fame Kills Tour though. Some more pics:

She won 3: Best New Artist, Best Direction and Best Special Effects.

I didn't really care for the performance, her vocals were amazing though. I didn't really like her outfits either... at all. I liked what she wore between Just Dance and Pokerface so much more.

 

I can't drop her though, her songs are too amazing.

A suicide prevention interest group has slammed Lady GaGa’s performance at the 26th Annual MTV Video Music Awards for sending out an “irresponsible” message to young fans.
The quirky star shocked the audience by faking her own death in a gory onstage stunt. The outrageous star collapsed dripping in “blood” during her live performance of her single “Paparazzi” at the VMAs in New York City over the weekend.
Fans were stunned as GaGa pretended to stab herself in the chest and appeared lifeless as she dangled from a rope.
PAPYRUS, which aims to prevent suicide among young people and promote wellness, is calling the star out on her behavior.
“This act is not cool – sensationalizing and romanticizing suicide is irresponsible,” a spokesman for the organization said Tuesday. “Celebrities, who are often idolized by young people, need to be more aware of the impact that such acts can have on vulnerable young people.”
