Agreed with Rooney's statement regarding Sir Alex not getting anyway near as hard a time as Rafa ... a journalist wrote a couple of week's ago that he doesn't get a hard time this season because all focus for criticism/analysis has been on Rafa and Man City.

Happy for Leeds - my wife asked how much the ref would add on in injury time and I replied 'Until Man U score'. Glad I was wrong!

So the snow has taken out its highest profile victims yet with both Carling Cup semi's! :o

Does anyone else think that the managers that usually moan about needing a winter break, will get a few games postponed and then moan about fixture congestion in April time, which is exactly what would happen if their winter break ever came in.. :kink:

A winter break to try and avoid the worst weather would be difficult because we can never be sure when that will be or whether there will be any severe weather at all. However, I support the idea of a winter break simply to give the players a rest. I'd scrap the League Cup, preferably reduce the Premier League to 18 (although that would require some major restructuring below) and have a break from FA Cup 3rd round weekend to the 4th round weekend. Any replays could be played on one of the two Saturdays in that break.

Hoping our game against Bolton on Saturday gets called off for a few reasons;

1) They'll have a new manager, and it would be just our luck that it's the game against us when he manages to get them winning again.

2) We have no recognised first team full backs.

3) I really can't be arsed to go and watch us get beat off Bolton in the p***ing snow while my balls turn to prunes.

LET IT SNOW.

If Premier League games are postponed there could be problems rescheduling matches. Due to a typically daft new UEFA rule, Premier League matches (and Bundesliga matches etc) cannot be played at the same time as Champions League matches. So, unless both teams are out of the cup meaning they can play on one of the Cup weekends, there aren't many midweek dates available.
Sunderland's Barclays Premier League game against Bolton Wanderers at the Stadium of Light, originally scheduled to take place on Saturday, has been postponed following a second meeting of the Safety Advisory Group today.

With extreme weather conditions across the country, severe concern was expressed for the safety of supporters, staff and essential personnel travelling to the Stadium. Many roads across the region are in a dangerous condition and there are major difficulties with the general transport infrastructure.

 hahaha, chuffed with that.

Nice, relaxing Sunderland-free day tomorrow not having to suffer watching us get beat off Bolton in the freezing cold.

So glad the Liverpool game has been called off!!

Means Mascherano can make mincemeat of Palacios and Huddlestone. :D

If the weather stays like this and health & safety don't develop a bit of common sense he'll still be suspended in March!

IT'S A POTENTIAL DEATHTRAP!

This is a great rule, therefore I propose if Chelsea, Arsenal or Manchester United are unable to fulfil their fixtures they should have to forfeit the 3 points to the opposition.

I'm sure Spurs; Man City; Liverpool; Aston Villa fans would agree this is a great idea!

:P

I've refrained from posting in this thread much about my own team as I feel I'd get carried away, but I feel after moving up to 2nd beating the team above us incredibly convincingly on their own patch I can no longer.

17 league games unbeaten, unbeaten away from home for over 10 months (well it will be when we actually play our next away game). If people weren't taking us seriously before they will be now. Whilst I agree with Billy Davies that going up next year might be better, we have an opportunity to do so now and should do our best to take it.

Of the team that started tonight, 6 of them were here a year ago when Billy first took over and most of them looked like relegation fodder we should've left in league 1 (Moussi, Morgan and Wilson especially). The job he's done here is nothing short of fantastic. In the summer we made a fair few signings but the one position most Forest agreed we needed to strengthen was centre half, yet we didn't sign any. Kelvin Wilson looked especially useless last season, this season he's been a rock putting in constant Man of the Match performances.

Yes, we may have spent more money than most in the Championship but money buys you quality and it's now running through this team. If we can sign Shorey and Majewski permanently I'll be absolutely delighted, Raddy has been absolutely superb this season and is surely going to add to the 6 Poland caps he's won so far. I really hope the £1.5m fee we agreed with Polonia Warsaw that was rumoured is true, because it's an absolute bargain if so!

I was always a tad skeptical about Billy Davies taken over as most Derby and Preston fans seemed to criticise him despite the excellent work he'd done there, and he's continued that here. If I were to believe what I was told we'd be nothing but a hoofball side and if we were to go up, it would've been because we'd had 15-20 dull 1-0 wins! But it's been anything but that, we can play in so many different styles and formations. We generally play 442 but he's brought in 451 for the two big games against Newcastle and West Brom and we've deserved victories against both. We've proved we can play extremely attractive stuff, we can battle when we need to and grind out a result, and away from home we can really frustrate the opposition at fairly tough grounds.

Finally, I would like to say thanks to West Bromwich Albion for going the extra effort and spending all that extra money to make sure tonight's game went ahead!

I'm not sure whether Forest will go up automatically, but play-offs look a good shout for them. I think a lot depends on how/if West Brom and Newcastle strengthen over this transfer period. But I think those 3 teams will run away from the rest of the Championship as they've by far the best squads. Only problem is there's 2 automatic promotion spots, not 3!

How's Anderson doing for Forest now? I was a bit gutted when Liverpool let him go as I always thought he had potential. But no other clubs near the top came in for him when we let him go. Hope he proves to be a success, but I think Liverpool have better players who were probably only a year or so behind Anderson in terms of development.

I'm still not convinced we will go up, but at the moment I don't think anyone other than perhaps Cardiff (who are facing a winding up order anyway) have shown they've got the quality to consistantly match the top 3. At the beginning of the season I thought we'd be top half with an outside chance of sneaking into the play-offs in 5th or 6th. I'd have been delighted to get that so if we do finish in the playoffs I certainly won't be disappointed. I just think we have the quality and the team spirit required to challenge Newcastle and West Brom all the way, the look on Chris Cohen's face after he scored the 3rd goal last night showed how much passion they all play with.

Paul Anderson is a good player, he's pacy and he gets stuck in well but I'm pretty sure he'll never be Liverpool quality. For an attacking winger he doesn't score or assist as much as he perhaps should, but for the £250k we paid for him it's definitely a bargain. When this run started he was probably the most impressive player we had, but the rest of the team have caught up now and he doesn't particularly stand out, not that many in the team do. Great to see Lee Camp get Player of the Month for December though, a quality keeper and it shocks me that when people talk about English Keepers from the Championship they mention him after Carson, Lewis and Loach.

^ My brother who is a fellow Forest fan is also playing down their chances of playing in the Premiership next season ...... Mind you he is chuffed to bits how well they are currently doing and last nights performance was very impressive.

Liverpool are working on it. Give them a bit more time

Few surprises yesterday with both Arsenal and Manchester United managing draws, though the latter is not really that surprising remembering the form that Birmingham are in.

Also surprising was Wycombe Wanderers managing a draw with Leeds United. Narrowed the gap for Norwich City who are currently second. Teams below have games in hand though and Leeds above them have a game in hand.

No match for Carlisle, that was postponed quite early.

Next week, a grudge match for a local derby takes place. Colchester vs Norwich. There is a lot of bad feeling between the two clubs after Norwich acquired the services of Paul Lambert as manager. This encounter should be lively.

For all Liverpool fans who mocked United's loss, justice is served.

Say what you want about Sir Alex, but we're not the side who are out of all four cups we're competing in in January..

Liverpool seem to be in crisis at the moment. Take Torres & Gerard out of the team, and it all falls down. How much longer will the devoted kop sing the praises of Benitez. Ah well they are still in the Euro thingy cup.

Where the fukk have I mocked United's loss to Leeds???? One, I don't rate the FA Cup as a contest unless it goes down to the Quarter Final & Two, I know how awful Liverpool are/have been playing and knew the result tonight was very possible, which became likely after Torres & Gerrard both went off injured as Reading were by far the best side all match and wanted it more.

RAFA OUT GUUS HIDDINK IN

About as fukking accurate as you falsely accusing/slandering my review of I Blame Coco in the Reviews saying that I took it from the Guardian, which is complete and utter bolloxs as I'm not that bloody lazy.

For the record I nicked bits from two separate free iPod broadcasts reviewing new acts for 2010 from The Word magazine and Radio 6 Music (The quote comparing her to her Dad was so funny I had to use it). :P

A strong piece of advice, don't make false accusations as it can serious p*** other people off especially when I'm trying to do something creative and of benefit for the site.

Especially at times like this when I'm very angry bunny having watched Liverpool's season reach all time nadir.
