May 8, 201015 yr Division One Battle for second place (& automatically promotion): Start of the day Leeds Utd were second, Then Swindon went 2nd; Then Leeds went back 2nd; Then Charlton went 2nd; Then Leeds went 2nd; Then Millwall went 2nd; .. and now Leeds have gone 2nd .... Amazing stuff!
May 8, 201015 yr So Leeds promoted. Gillingham relgated  Millwall vs Hudd play off 1 Swindon vs Charlton play off 2. Pooooooor Grimsby :( Stupid Burton, what exactly did they have to fight for? Ohhhhh yer, way to go Blackpool btw :cheer:
May 8, 201015 yr Author Damn. Gutted Leeds got promoted. Grimbsy are going to struggle next year in the BSP. Suprised at the Blackpool result earlier as well... got that feeling Notts Forest will beat them easily at home though.
May 8, 201015 yr ^ I was thinking that Blackpool needed a bigger home win to have any chance in the second leg, given Nottingham Forest's impressive home record. Poor Grimsby, I was hoping they would have stayed up. :( As for my Carlisle, where were that team for the earlier games I wonder? Beating Norwich at Carrow Road, impressive.
May 8, 201015 yr Damn. Gutted Leeds got promoted. Grimbsy are going to struggle next year in the BSP. Suprised at the Blackpool result earlier as well... got that feeling Notts Forest will beat them easily at home though. I hope so, James Perch is an absolute f***ing arsehole. Way out of posiiton for the first, gave away the penalty for the second, was way out of position again to let DJ Campbell have a third, luckily he put it well wide. Absolutely shockiing second half, f***ng awful. Majevski and Tyson did sod all. 1-2 isn't too bad, we can beat them at home, providing we play Chambers at right back, never did i think i'd say that. Perch is dreadful. Also need to play Boyd an Earnshaw. I don't undnerstand Davies fascination with playing a left footer on the right wing and right footer on the left. Anderson and Tyson would've been far more effective the other way round, as they would've been all season, he just never plays them that way for some reason. Boyd to play in the 2nd leg!!
May 9, 201015 yr Yay Barnet stayed up!!! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: Been on edge ever since they lost to Grimsby.
May 9, 201015 yr My life has resolved to clutching on very thin straws and promising Wigan bars of gold for a good performance.
May 9, 201015 yr Half-Time scores: Arsenal 3-0 Fulham Aston Villa 0-0 Blackburn Bolton 1-0 Birmingham Burnley 1-2 Tottenham Chelsea 2-0 Wigan Everton 0-0 Portsmouth Hull 0-0 Liverpool Man Utd 2-0 Stoke West Ham 1-1 Man City Wolves 1-1 Sunderland ..... About at exciting and dramatic as today's Spanish Grand Prix. :coffee:
May 9, 201015 yr Author Well at least a bad season as a Liverpool fan hasn't got any worse with Man Utd winning the title bar some bizarre obliteration from Chelsea.
May 9, 201015 yr I'm no great fan of Chelsea but you can't argue against a team that got 18 points out of 18 against their three perceived main rivals and scored over 100 goals in the season.
May 10, 201015 yr Well at least a bad season as a Liverpool fan hasn't got any worse with Man Utd winning the title bar some bizarre obliteration from Chelsea. Although if reports are true next season Liverpool will lose either Gerrard or Benitez; as Gerrard has got frustrated with the manager.
May 10, 201015 yr I can't be the only person who finds it shocking that Stoke's 11th place finish is only the second time since the Premier League started that a promoted side has finished higher in its second season! :o
May 12, 201015 yr Neither can I. I had that down as an emphatic home win. Expected them to lose at Blackpool (their away record has not been too impressive lately) and beat them at their home ground, especially given their impressive home record. Edited May 12, 201015 yr by Flatcap
May 12, 201015 yr Amazing stuff from Blackpool last night, I thought they thoroughly deserved their win, they were the much better side on the night.
May 12, 201015 yr We completely bottled it last night. Blackpool weren't particularly great but half of our team never turned up. Perch is shocking full stop, Tyson was awful, as was Blackstock. And Wes Morgan put in the type of performance I'd dreaded he'd make on a regular basis if we were to go up. I love him but I do feel that a top 6 Championship side is probably his limit. It clearly affected Wilson too last night. Adebola's crap, McGoldrick is shocking, sell them both. They offer nothing. McKenna wasn't fit and was no where near his best, although I think he's overrated anyway. He always clears it higher than it goes far. Earnshaw and Cohen didn't deserve to be on the losing side last night, unfortunately for them everyone else did. Ah well, we'd have come straight back down and it gives us another chance next season where we'll be even better. Billy was right though, we aren't good enough, it would've been too soon. The three coming down are no where near as good as the three going up, I worry about Leeds and Norwich far more. Top 10 for both of those I think. I just hope to God that Blackpool go up and that Cardiff don't. Holloway has done an incredible jon. Get a left back in, sign Boyd, get a winger and a striker to replace at least one of Adebola, Tyson and McGoldrick and we'll be ok I think. And play Paul Anderson and Chris Cohen on the opposite f***ing wings!!
May 12, 201015 yr As far as Norwich are concerned, there seems to be two views on their aim for next season. One is to consolidate themselves in the Championship, and another is to reach the play-offs. That is according to the local newspaper here. Currently extra time being played at Cardiff.
