^ Thanks. :cheer: I shall try and get tickets for this match. :w00t:

Very tense ending on penalties. Got Southampton in the final.

My predictions for this evening's league games, some were good some were not so good. :heehee:

Breaking News on Radio 5 Live:

Portsmouth face a winding up order from the Inland Revenue over £7.5million in the High Court tomorrow morning. :o

Given another 7 days to prove they can pay the creditors. Why they get a week when Cardiff get 28 days with their 2nd winding up palava is beyond me. Southend also have 28 days.

And while I'm here Sol Campbell = :puke:

Yet again Arsehole Whingers cheat their way to an ill deserved victory against Liverpool.

Best summed up by virtually the last kick of the match where a Gerrard free kick is clearly blocked by a rising arm to the ball by Fabregas on the penalty box and nothing is given when Almunia would have been unsighted and the ball would have ended up in the back of the net..

Disgusting. It hurts that over 180 minutes Liverpool have deserved six points in these two fixtures and have come away with nothing this season.

Watching that game it was also clear Cesc's mind is somewhere else right now (Barca).

Carlisle managed their biggest win of the season? 5-0 winners. Think I need a lie down. :o

Nottingham Forest have lost again. :o Thought they would have bounced back or is their confidence on the road shaken after Derby? Newcastle and Swansea managed a draw.

League below, Norwich resume their winning ways but had to come from behind to win. Big game of the day came from Huddersfield where they were actually behind at home. They managed to get a point in the end, but that was two sides aiming for promotion at best and playoffs at worst. Interesting game in this league coming up on Monday. Bristol Rovers (normally good at home) against Charlton Athletic (once second, but have been dropping points lately).

League 2, Bury were defeated by Chesterfield and Bournemouth were beaten by Dagenham and Redbridge.

Two defeats since our biggest win of the season? I was hoping they would build on the success against MK Dons. Sadly, not. Though, both Huddersfield and Swindon are in the play off chase. Must have caught MK Dons on a bad day for them.

I hope I am not talking to myself in here?

We lost again, not a huge surprise really. It's starting to get monotonous and it's getting to the stage where i'm beginning not to care. And everyone's to blame. Everyone.

The players clearly don't care and performances have been utter wank since our last win (3 months to the day as of tomorrow). They're not concentrating, bar a selected few they're not performing, they're not fucking learning from the same stupid, basic mistakes they're making week in/week out, it's shit. Really, really shit.

Bruce clearly can't motivate them, constantly banging on about the referees and trying to use that (And injuries) as an excuse when really the finger should be being pointed at himself and the players. Yes, injuries have played their part but even with most of the squad fit there's been times when we've been absolutely fucking shocking, and Bruce is partly to blame. His tactics at times are highly negative and it's like watching us under Sbragia all over again (Defending a 1-0 lead for 85 minutes has never, and will never, ever work for us. Ever), and some of his decisions and substitutions are baffling. Prime example, Portsmouth at home. Portsmouth are getting a fair few corners, so he takes off Jones (Our main defence against corners) and brings on Bardsley. And plays him on the right wing. What's that about? Terrible management.

Some of our fans are tossers as well. No the wonder we've been struggling at home when 90% of the ground would rather sit and boo or abuse the players during the match.

The only thing I can be positive about is that some of our remaining fixtures are winnable (In theory, at least). No doubt we'll find a fun and imaginative way to royally piss things up though and drop yet more points. Fulham at home, Bolton at home, Birmingham at home, West Ham away, Burnley at home, Hull away, Wolves away - i'd honestly be stunned if we won even 3 of those fixtures. We're also lucky that Portsmouth look to occupy the bottom of the table for the remainder of the season so realistically there's only 2 relegation places left.

I really just want this season over, I don't care where we end up I just want it out of the way. Complete and utter shit after yet another false dawn.

I think Portsmouth are in danger of going completely under (I hope this is not the case, but i'm not sure whether they can last until the end of the season). If that were to happen i'm sure all teams that played Portsmouth would lose the points taken off them, not sure how this effects Sunderland (100% sure they won't get relegated) but it could prove to be have an effect on the whole table really.

The Premier League's really become very competitive again this season (take Everton against Manchester United and Chelsea recently for example). Just praying Liverpool don't get beat tomorrow against Manchester City or else it'll put a massive downer on the race for 4th spot.

Strachan is clueless. That will be all.

Yeah, 5 wins and 6 draws in 20 league games isn't a particularly impressive record. Seems to be taking you backwards

Just means there's one less relegation spot for someone to occupy. Our saving grace is that Portsmouth and Burnley look dead certs to finish 20th and 19th, and I can't see us finishing below Hull or Wolves (Or even Bolton, really).

It's still been a massively shit season. I just think it's for the benefit of everyone if the FA call it to an end now.

You did ok yesterday. Baring in mind you were going to a Forest side who'd taken 34 points from a possible 36 in their previous 12 home games, scoring 29 and conceding 5 you were doing really well to shut us out. You pressed us well and stopped us from playing, a lot of the game we were restricted to long balls up field which your 3 6ft+ defenders were winning every single time. The one time we were actually able to play to our strengths and get it on the floor we scored. People criticise him for signing all these Celtic players, but Flood and Robson were easily the most energetic and creative players Boro had. If the strikers had more of a cutting edge about them I doubt we'd have won.

Ok's just not good enough though. We were absolutely terrible against Peterborough and the performances are just so lacklustre most of the time. I mean Strachan doesn't seem to know any players at all other than those he managed at Celtic  He even tried to get Nakamura to come too  Now that would be one signing I would have liked! Robson I've always liked, not seen too much of the others until now, but yes not spiffingly good at the moment.

Sooo Wayne Bridge retires from International football.

Merci JT for screwing up the WC campaign before it started! Pray (as much as I hate to say it <_<) that Ashley Cole returns in time but I can't see it.

Why is Wayne Bridge retiring from international football a bad thing anyway?

Unlike a few years ago left back is probably the area that we have the most depth in. You look at the Premiership and you have Stephen Warnock, Liam Ridgewell, Paul Robinson, Ashley Cole, Leighton Baines, Paul Konchesky, Nicky Shorey, Andy Dawson, Wayne Bridge and Danny Collins all playing left back most weeks for their clubs as well as Kieran Gibbs who's a great prospect and Jolean Lescott and Gareth Barry who are very competant in that position.

OK a lot are no where near international quality but Cole, Warnock, Konchesky and Shorey are all capped and Baines & Gibbs surely will be in the not too distant future. I'd happily have any of those as cover for Cole. Since Chelsea signed Ashley Cole Wayne Bridge has done nothing to warrant being picked for England anyway. We don't need him at all. Right-back, however.....

I don't know. I'm quite happy with Upson as backup to Rio and JT. And hopefully next year Lescott might find some form, super Jags will be back to his best and Cahill will recover from his illness and maybe join a half-decent team.... And to be fair Dawson and Shawcross have been playing brillaintly this season. I'm hoping one of them might sneak onto the plane.

Which gives me a great idea for a Sports thread ...... :D

Wayne Bridge sends text to John Terry after todays game: "That's how you play away."
