Great result for Liverpool and easily our best performance yet. If history repeats itself ... when we beat Man Utd at Old Trafford our season took off (last season). Great we kept a clean sheet! Loved Jamie Redknapp on Sky Sports saying Jamie Carragher should have been sent off and that if Jamie was asked he'd say the same ... five minutes later Jamie was asked if it was a sending off and Jamie said no! That's it, Jamie, deny everything!! Now to Wed and a match to Arsenal - not expecting much, to be honest. Wonder if Aqualani will get a run out?

*sigh* Liverpool deserved to win that and that's something I didn't expect to say AT ALL! Ffs the LAST person Rio and Nemanja should give leave such a big space to run into between them is Fernando bloody Torres! (and also that was a perfect pass tbh) and if that wasn't bad enough Nemanja unnecessarily pulls Kuyt over and gets sent off AGAIN  (I wonder what odds you could have got for that happening?) I have no idea where Rio was when Pat and O'Shea coudln't handle the attack for the second goal either. <_< As always these days we looked a bit shaky without Fletch.

Anyway well done to Liverpool, a great result but some of your players can be unreliable like Mascherano for example, great player but he always stupid things like that tackle on Van Der Sar! And the likes of Lucas and NGog aren't quite the finished products hence why they get so much stick sometimes. The only thing I can complain about Liverpool is that Carragher should have been sent off! -_-

Ferdinand and Vidic are scared $h!tless of Torres. The latter especially, that's twice he's basically had to man-handle Torres just to get him out of the game and it's still not worked. Ferdinand has been poor all season though (not just for Man Utd either...). It's definitely worrying times if you're both a Man Utd fan and an England fan, as while although he's still a top defender don't get me wrong, he's increasingly becoming a liability. OK every week in the Premier League you're not going to face a striker such as Torres, but in the World Cup (especially if England progress to the latter stages) it will be tough.

I thought Masch was excellent yesterday. Just one little sign of madness, but that was pure passion for the club. It proper annoys me when people give stick to underserving players. N'gog is a fantastic talent imo and has the potential to become a top striker... and he's only 20!! The goal he scored against Utd was class. Yeah it was one on one, but having TOO much time to think about where to place the shot is never a good thing. And i'm convinced Lucas will develop into a top top player. What he did against Man Utd, he's been doing all season, but it's just never come off as well as it did yesterday. Whilst I do think Carragher should have been sent off as well, I don't think anyone can have any complaints that he wasn't. And I don't think it would have made a difference to the final score either.

Two home wins on the bounce. :funky: I am somewhere in the clouds here. I was hoping for a draw here against Charlton who are second in the table, but a win! Words fail me.

Think I will have a lie down when I am back down from those clouds...

There comes a time when even I cannot defend "in Rafa we trust" Benitez.

This afternoon substituting Torres then Benayoun is that time. To lose to Fulham today is unforgivable, and sends a message to the Premiership that we cannot win the title this season.

George Gillett and Tom Hicks need to leave the club before they destroy it. How can you run a business where you need to make a £43 million profit each season to break even due to servicing debts which were non existent before those two Yankie mercenary muppets bought the club with Bank loans.

George Gillett and Tom Hicks out! :arrr:

Gordon Strachan working wonders :magic: But losing doesn't get you the sack at Boro :heehee:

I'm not a patient person though :( and I still have my Strachan doubts

Every time I think Liverpool might turn a corner .... cant believe we lost to Fulham after our performance against Man Utd. Think Rafa, Hicks and Gillete need to decide whether they want to win the league or the Champions League - we dont have the squad who can compete on both fronts. Seems Rafa picked his team yesterday with one eye on Lyon on Wed.

There's a virus throughout the club at the moment (confirmed through Dave ). There's having strength in depth, but honestly when we had Skrtel, Agger, Aqualini, Gerrard, N'Gog, Aurellio and Johnson all out it takes its toll. Plus Lucas was only half fit, and Torres is nowhere near fit, he shouldn't even be playing. Then having quite two quite frankly laughable red cards just takes its toll. Fulham are a good side so there's no shame, but even with the team we put out we were still the better side.

You need luck to win things, and at the moment Liverpool are getting absolutely none of that in terms of injuries and decisions in games...

Oh classic cheating Chelsea

Very encouraged by our display today though, we were brilliant until we conceded the goal (which was never a free kick in a million years, not to mention Drogba's tackle/offside). Just a shame we couldn't finish the job, even a draw would have sufficed :(

This weekend's real brilliant battle was today's lunchtime kickoff in the FA Cup First Round, my local team Northwich Victoria beating League One Charlton 1-0. Now THIS was a truly exhilerating match and really showed the magic of the FA Cup and the passion of none league football.

I hate Northwich.

There are so many more deserving non-league clubs deserving of plaudits other than Northwich Victoria. They had a good victory, but it doesn't stop me from disliking them a lot. York on the other hand... :D

Oh dear, being a Liverpool supporter just can't get any worse.

Completely dominating the half, yet 1-2 down to two players scoring their debut goals for the club.

... Torres injured, and Riera seemingly pulls a hamstring.

This is getting ridiculous! Losing a game we should be winning .... and by the sounds of Radio 5 Live we are dominating.

I'd be worried if that was Cameron Jerome's first goal for Birmingham, given that he's made over 100 league appearences for them....

It's a shame about the N'Gog dive, it really is. The lad played so well, scored a cracking goal and then spoilt it by doing that. It also means that instead of the talk being about 2 outstanding strikes, it's now going to be focused on N'Gogs diving and the penalty. Reminds me of the Liverpool match against us, all the fuss was about the beachball goal instead of being how poor Liverpool were on the day and how we should have won the match by more than the solitary goal.

Still, on the balance of play Liverpool deserved more than a point. It's just a shame and very harsh on Birmingham (Who defended solidly, especially their centre backs) that the point came in such circumstances. Either way, it's points dropped at home to a team they shouldn't be dropping points to and it's not going to help ease any of the pressure on Rafa. The title has never looked like being further away from Anfield.

How Carlisle managed to let two goals in near the end of their game is beyond me. Anyway, if we get through we get Norwich at home again. We only played them about a month ago at home.

This evening, the performance was much better. We came back from 1-0 down to beat Chesterfield 1-3 to progress to the next round of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

If Liverpool get 4th this season i'll be pleased. We've no luck really so we can't do anything. The injuries we've got are just not good.

Feel a bit sorry for N'Gog, yes he dived and it was not good but why the fuss really? Drogba does it all the time. N'Gog's going to be a very very good player either way. Bit disappointed he dived as I think we'd have got something out the game anyway, but ah well. Kinda glad for the international break for once...
