I don't know what to think. My expectations were very high, and this certainly doesn't meet them.

Bleeding Love had such an immediate impact with me. I think this is a grower for sure, but I'm really not big on the production of it.

Well i started singing it off memory now, well the chorus anyway and I've only listened to it a few times.
with all Womanizer-rip off comments, the only thing that comes to my mind is Brooke Hogan :P, so I'm not expecting this to be that good TBH.

Here's the song for people who haven't heard this or live outside the UK or something...

It gets a HELL of alot better after a few more listens

I'm sorry but the more I hear it the more 'just ordinary' it sounds! If I could think of a fairytale analogy for this it would have to be 'The Emperor's New Clothes'.

I have to agree having listened to it a couple more times tonight.

It is far from a bad record, especially with that catchy chorus. But if this was a new record by an unknown artist, would it honestly be good enough to be picked it for Radio & Video airplay to become a Top 10 hit. Personally, I don't think so.

I agree, it only gets worse. :(

You know Rich you were right with something else you posted about this very 'average' song. You said that no matter what Robbie Williams comes out with - if the release dates (which I've not checked) are fairly close between his and Alexandra's single releases - Robbie's effort would well be knocked sideways. In short ... it looks like last year's X-Factor (proper) debut single could do to Rob's song what Leona's did to Take That in 2007! Although that time, one has to admit, Leona will have done it with a much better song!

and when u think Eva Simons is struggling to get some exposure with better song (I'm assuming it is better since I haven't heard this one yet).

Yes, I think even with the charts becoming increasingly slower moving, Alexandra will do well to spend 28 weeks in the charts. Whilst even the most confident Rob fan can't expect his single to spend 68 weeks in the charts.

When you consider Silly Boy is (supposed to be) released September 7th in the UK (and the track has been available to download on UK iTunes etc since July 31st), where is the airplay?

I guess it is proof that Radio and Music Channel programmers in the UK are narrow minded and are not interested in some former Dutch winner of PopStars, no more than say Dutch Radio programmers would be interested in a solo single by a member of the UK equivalent of Popstars (for example Cheryl Cole) whose band have sold few records outside of Britain & Ireland.

Yet if Silly Boy had been the comeback single by Rihanna ft Lady GaGa would they have ignored it? Of course not. Radio 1 would have put it straight to their A List. The same would have happened with the video on music channels, and the song would go to #1 in the charts.

It's all very depressing really. :(

Eva will no doubt be pushed back. (Yes they're leaving it a little close to the release date to push it back) But I wouldn't be surprised if they're holding it back until early January so she doesn't compete with X Factor and stuff. (A bit like Lady GaGa 'Just Dance')

Loving this! :o

I first heard it at work today, some boy was playing it on my phone and he was telling his mate it was Alexandra's new single. I stopped stacking my crisps immediatly and asked him to bluetooth it to me.

Well this isn't terrible. The problem I have with it though is that it doesn't seem to know what it is - an electro stomper or retro-esque pop. I think they've tried to make some slightly dated production sound all hip, trendy and other buzzwords by adding in the annoying alarms. If they had gone in one direction and produced this something like Crazy Chick, I think it would've worked better because the chorus is really catchy - I had it in my head after one listen.

The best thing about this though is that it's a reality contestant lead single that's NOT A BALLAD. It's such a relief.

ive been listening to it over and over on youtube etc and i bet if i had it it would give hallelujah a run for its money in my top 100 chart!
