The video is good. I still don't like the song, but the video makes it TOLERABLE.

I now dislike both the song and the video. Shame, because I really like Alexandra.

So. Both Alexandra and Robbie will be having a battle for the number 1. But another song is set to be released on the same date, in the name of Michael Jackson and a previously unreleased song, 'This Is It'!

The toughest week of 2009 so far or WHAT?! :o

The video is good, unfortunately though it is effectively a cover of Michael Jackson's Beat It video.

I don't think so to be honest. I think Rob's got an easy ride for the top slot now. There really should be more 'buzz' about the Alexandra release but there seems to be absolutely nothing. I remember in 2007 - you couldn't escape Leona's Bleeding Love on the radio but I've hardly heard Alexandra's song at all. If her song does do well I think she can take all the credit herself as Simon Cowell (and I may be wrong - maybe he is working hard behind the scenes) seems to have put no backing in at all.

IMO though, I don't think either Rob's or Alex's songs deserve to get to number 1 but obviously one of them will and my money is on Norman Wisdom's Love-Child!

Norma

Really Norma?

Before MJ, Alex was a cert IMO. Her single/video are everwhere! I can't turn on music channels without seeing it! And I've only access to 2 of them!

I swear! I've got Radio One on at work most days and today I heard her song once. Maybe it was on again while I was at lunch. I heard Rob's Bodies about three times though - but I haven't seen his video yet (well I've not been looking for it if I'm honest).

I've seen Alex's video a few times - but as my little fella has control of the TV most times ... I'm probably missing more.

I'd say Robbie has about as much chance of reaching the UK#1 spot as Aston Villa have of winning The Premiership = very little.

If it is not a brand new Michael Jackson track (taken from an otherwise unoriginal album), then Alexandra Burke will easily be #1 as every time I turn on the radio or turn on music video channels I seem to catch the track. Robbie's very much an album artist now and I can't see him shifting over 60,000 copies needed to stand a chance of the top spot. He has to move his release date forward otherwise he is stuffed.

I think you're all wrong about Robbie. I think he'll easily get his number 1.

In fact ... I'm going to do a Blanche and put a little bet on in Peter Barlow's bookie shop!

That would be because Robbie Williams is A-List on Radio 1 and Alex is B :P (A gets more plays than B etc...)

It is indeed brand new Michael:

Sony Music has confirmed that it plans to release a new Michael Jackson album and single.

The song 'This Is It' will be made available on October 12, two weeks prior to the release of the concert film of the same name, Entertainment Weekly reports.

The track will appear on a two-disc compilation - also titled This Is It - that will follow on October 26.

"Disc one will feature the original album masters of some of Michael's biggest hits arranged in the same sequence as they appear in the film," according to the record label.

"The disc ends with two versions of the never-released 'This Is It'. This song is featured in the film's closing sequence and includes backing vocals by Michael's brothers, the Jacksons."

The second disc will feature "previously unreleased versions" from the late King Of Pop's catalogue of hits. It will also include a spoken word poem entitled Planet Earth and a 36-page commemorative booklet with "exclusive photos of Michael from his last rehearsal".

Former Sony CEO Tommy Mottola recently said that fans can expect to enjoy new music from the popstar for "decades to come".

It's certainly going to be a VERY interesting release week!

Yes I realise that, but it still doesn't explain that I haven't actually heard much of her song at all ... not on regional radio either.

Maybe it has been on and I've just been so busy working I haven't been listening to the radio enough at work!

On the last airplay chart Alex was #13 and Robbie #7.

It's definitely being played :heehee:

Maybe I was in the loo then while she's being played!

Edit ... oops! Nearly missed me trademark signature .... Norma!

to get to #1 over MJ or Alex he would need to sell atleast 150k IMO but I imagine a TT - GD type sales.
ERM I officialy hate MJ now. His single and album is probably going to stop Alex and Cheryl from the #1 spot. OVERDOSE. I'm sick of this man really.

Another nicer pic than the ones they have used.

I would definitely expect Alex to get the number 1 over Robbie but with MJ it seems almost impossible. Still hopefully she'll get to 2 and have a number 1 album. The song is getting a lot of radio play and is all over the video channels.
Im well into this now, heard it on a night out the other week and it really hit me
