August 29, 200915 yr lovely :kink: thank GOD nobody sent Alexandra :drama: edit: and Jade Yeah, I would have probably confirmed late anyway. I think Jade could have won it (this is looking like a weak contest) but I went for the track I liked better in the end. 2 places left with just Aaron left to confirmed, looks like Skalls in this contest but Johnopia, Triodopolis and KOS have all missed the cut already ;( I think we can possibly do it with 53 actually. Kathaldazia AQ, two semis of 26 with 14 getting through?

Jade wouldn't have won I don't think but she would have had a second consecutive top five Alexandra on the other hand would have had a Silly Boy type win, so thank GOD Rich got there in time to stop the inevitable happening  for the first time in a few months, there is no clear winner here, which is good as it makes it more of an exciting competition, even if the contest isn't as strong...and a number of my favourite songs of the year have been entered this month so I'm hardly finding it weak so far
August 29, 200915 yr for some reason I don't have a problem with One Love being sent...something in my mind tells me that it isn't as cheap as Alexandra/Jade...maybe because Estelle's last outing to BJSC was an uber-flop Same, I would have sent it, but I felt like sending "Punching Out" was so much cheaper than "One Love". Possibly because of the 4th last month, possibly because of the Eurovision link. I guess the last David Guetta entry did well, but he's only the producer and the songs are only as good as the artist performing the track. Estelle is not a big name on this forum (or anywhere really) so I don't feel that it's wrong. She's one of my favourite artists after only two albums and it feels right to go back to someone I love that much. (and, oddly enough, I could be going back to Bev next time)

Hmmm OK consider that done unless Tyron storms in here disagreeing that the contest has got to large  so only Tom has then missed out and Cassidy ofcourse who forgot to even confirm even though being on the waiting list O_O
August 29, 200915 yr for some reason I don't have a problem with One Love being sent...something in my mind tells me that it isn't as cheap as Alexandra/Jade...maybe because Estelle's last outing to BJSC was an uber-flop still it's from artist who have produced 3 uk #1 hits in 3 month time frame and is about to have a #2 album this week -_-
August 29, 200915 yr Why? Is RaVaughn cheap? Not at all. It's just a list of artists who, based on stuff I've heard by them previously, I think are dreadful.
August 29, 200915 yr Hmmm OK consider that done unless Tyron storms in here disagreeing that the contest has got to large  so only Tom has then missed out and Cassidy ofcourse who forgot to even confirm even though being on the waiting list O_O I think it was 53 that was agreed anyway, but it was less last time because of 1) the number of competitiors didn't reach 53 or 2) to do with having more than one auto-qualifier. Or maybe both...
August 29, 200915 yr Not at all. It's just a list of artists who, based on stuff I've heard by them previously, I think are dreadful. Oh, that's fine, if it's purely based on taste :) I'm quite aware that our tastes differ after 8 contests

I just don't think anything sticks out as winner yet. Don't think Alexandra would have won, I think she'd have been boycotted. Yeah, I think it's your favourite songs of the year that are making it weaker for me. :kink: Hmmm OK consider that done unless Tyron storms in here disagreeing that the contest has got to large  so only Tom has then missed out and Cassidy ofcourse who forgot to even confirm even though being on the waiting list O_O Haha, I think Tom confirmed? Ellie Goulding - Black and Gold? still it's from artist who have produced 3 uk #1 hits in 3 month time frame and is about to have a #2 album this week -_- Ahh true. :( I just see it as no different to having RedOne songs storming the contest as he doesn't actually sing.

Don't think Alexandra would have won, I think she'd have been boycotted. Yeah, I think it's your favourite songs of the year that are making it weaker for me. :kink: the closest former BJSC song I can compare Punching Out to is Already Gone by Kelly Clarkson and that came 9th didn't it? I can't see a slowish song winning the contest any time soon...maybe Jade is more popular than Kelly Clarkson here? Maybe Punching Out is better than Already Gone? I don't know :heehee: I still reckon it will be sent next month by someone though, when it will be arguably less cheap, seeing as she won't have just finished 4th, and My Man will have flopped heavily by then :snif: I don't think many people do boycott do they? I'd even feel obliged to have given Bad Boys at least 7 points had it been entered, it's a fantastic pop/urban song and I think the sheer volume of support it would have got even in the face of 3 or 4 people boycotting it, would have led to an easy win I aplogise for my cheesy pop love, it's not like I would have ever considered sending Butterflies or Love Love Love myself  and I dropped Pixie because I couldn't have cared less how she would have done with Here We Go Again, I would have been sending it just for a good result (which I still think it will achieve), Jungle Drum was a much more interesting replacement for me, I was more intrigued to see how it would fare

Okay Aaron we already know how much the qualification record means to you, but u've been uninspired lately, and this comes from a country that's on my top 5 most voted countries :snif: and pleasee...did we ever had RedOne Feat. Darin and Kat DeLuna or RedOne Feat. Enrique/Ciara...I bet not.
August 29, 200915 yr I don't think 'My Man' will flop... It'll do an Esmee (although won't peak as high?)

I kinda hope no one sends it next month now, it might feel a bit old by then. I expect it would have been perfect for this month, but would suffer slightly next time. Possibly, I just can't see sending the equivalent of "Bleeding Love" going down down a treat, though it is essentially the perfect BJSC song. It's got Pop, Urban and European appeal, only the Indie vote missing. I haven't heard the Pixie song, but I actually don't mind the NF songs this month. I could see myself giving them something in the semis, depending on the quality. I'm glad you picked "Jungle Drum", one of your three entries that I gave points. It was only three (your second highest amount!) but it was also in one of the best contests I've been in. (I swear I host the best contests :smoke:)
August 29, 200915 yr I don't think 'My Man' will flop... It'll do an Esmee (although won't peak as high?) Oh I sincerely hope so. It's too good to bomb completely... all it needs is a good dose of airplay and it has the potential to really take off. It is still over three weeks until its release as well which works in its favour, so hopefully she can at least make the top 20. Annoying thing is though that if say, Alexandra Burke, was releasing 'My Man' it would blatantly be number one for weeks. -_-
August 29, 200915 yr Let's face it, Jade (or her label) was a bit of a tit for leading with 'My Man' when she had 'Punching Out' at her disposal. Then again it makes sense to lead the album with her strongest song next year, but who knows if it'll even get a release at this rate...

Darin and Kat DeLuna or RedOne Feat. Enrique/Ciara...I bet not. I don't think I've ever had particularly inspired entries. If anything Tegan & Sara and M$ney were my most inspired entries and they were some of my more recent ones. Apart from that I'd only called Beverley, Video Villain and A.R. Rahman/M.I.A. were proper 'inspired' choices. Is it really a shock that I'm sending two artists I've sent before? No because RedOne doesn't release albums, but I don't see it as being much different to RedOne releasing an album with the likes of those, "Just Dance", "Remedy", "Fire Burning", "Here We Go Again" etc. on. I've never seen the difference between a song produced by an artist (without credit) and that producer making an album he doesn't sing on. I never credited Christian Falk when confirming "Dream On". :heehee:
