Gosh is it wrong to wish "Run this town" stop "Get sexy" from being #1 ? It's not like I've been repeating myself all day long, I have even not said anything negative about "Get sexy" to avoid any low attack.

Everyone was going about who they wish to be #1 this week, so I thought I would express my preference too.

And yes Mikal I would rather see "Holiday" at the top again ( ) but I don't think it's likely, that's why I went for "Run this town".

I think Get Sexy will just edge it though, they'll have a few thousand from physicals and I think they will sell more at HMV, amazon etc.
:o I'm quite surprised to see Run This Town this close to #1, sure it's got three superstars, but the Sugababes have really blitzed it with promotion.

They've only done one TV performance/interview, A few magazines and a few radio interviews. So I'd hardly say they've blitzed it, especially compared to Girls last year.

I have to say it's a brilliant top 10 this week, minus Outta Here.

Please people, don't change this chart battle into a personal fight :)

And tbh I would rather see David Guetta or BEP at the top again :heehee:

I think a thousand physicals is as much as they can sell. Not that a few thousands is not possible though.

Looks like Run This Town will overtake Get Sexy on the next update :o
RTT is much better than Get Sexy... but it doesn't get any airplay or promotion so...

Erm.

I hear Get Sexy fairly rarely on radio, but I hear RTT all the time...

On TV they're both played a lot, but I'd say again RTT is played more...

Anyway, it seems RTT is gonna be #1 at least on iTunes. The Tuesday mids shall reveal a lot - the strength of Dizzee and Sugas' physicals and multiple versions and also the strength of the three other versions of Sexy Bitch. Combine Sexy Bitch's four versions and it isn't too far off being a challenger for #1.

Airplay:

Sugas #12, Jay-Z #40 last week

TV airlplay:

Sugas #9, Jay-Z #10.

Sugababes have advantage from a bit of promo, Jay-Z - from HUGE names (I think from quarter to one-third or even more of RTT downloads are 'OMG, it's new Rihanna / it's new Kanye song!!!'). I think, if either Sugababes or Jay-Z win, it won't be because of quality of their songs, to be fair.

I think the "Run This Town" song is really average heard it on the radio for the first time in full before maybe it will grow I dunno, as long as Sugababes get top 3 thats a great enough achievement for me :D
JayZ almost ahead now. Once it goes ahead(looks like it will) it won't be topped by the Sugababes. Sugababes have the advantage of multiple formats including physical and being ahead from early sales. Sunday is the biggest download day of the week and with Monday being a bank holiday in most of the UK would imagine the first two days will be the days with most of the sales. Sugababe fans better hope that it stay close to JayZ on iTunes to hold it at bay overall. Going to be a tight week. Looking forward with much excitement to see how it unfolds.
RTT is much better than GS, but then, i loves my rap
the term hypocrite comes to mind.

It's not shallow at ally "Get Sexy right now" isn't telling people to go have sex it's telling people to be free and just let it all go on the dancefloor, which is what the song is for. Plus it's a bit of fun, even the girls say not to take the song seriously, it's a fun pop/dance record. It's brilliant to freak out with in a club.

The term 'obsessed fan who's idols can't do any wrong and has to have a go at anyone who disagrees' springs to mind. And honestly? You really think it's not shallow? You say it's not shallow but then you say it's just about having fun? Contradiction alert.

Anyway, i'm entitled to an opinion and i don't think i was being a hypocrite at all. But i knew that weak excuse of an argument was coming up. I said in my initial post that i thought the poster was being narrow-minded because branding RTT a chav-fest is totally inaccurate. Well narrow-minded or ignorant.

EDIT: Also, i never said GS was about having sex.

I think both songs are average to be honest. Sugababes have a far far better video and JayZ has got big names to perform on the track. Sugababes doing much better then I previously thought with this track and now it's gonna be tough to call.

JAY-Z IS #1 :o

Sugababes have a far far better video

Okay, I can appreciate a good video in a song that I hate, but this is wrong imo. The Jay-Z video is immense. Sugababes video is average, quite good at best.
