September 5, 200915 yr Isn't this just the fourth incarnation of "Halo"? Ryan Tedder has wrote the same song almost with "Halo", "Already Gone" and "The Cure" (Jordin Sparks song) and now this! Is this year of "pass the song"? Seriously, considering the talent this man has, it seems to be write and change the song a slight bit. It's not original at all. What next Christina Aguilera with the fifth and someone like Alexandra Burke with the sixth version? Not impressed with it at all.

Tedder had nothing to do with The Cure. Do you mean Battlefield? The only similarity Happy has to Halo and Already Gone is the drumbeat. There is no repetitive chorus like in them and it stands out on its own IMO.
September 6, 200915 yr Hmmm it's a really good song but for some reason I'm thinking it's not as good as most of the stuff on Spirit. Maybe my expectations were too high. It's very Ryan Tedder as well even though reviewers have said it's not. I will love it soon though, give it a week :P Thanks Rain
September 6, 200915 yr meh, its ok, i guess it cud grow but wtf is up wit this tedder dude? he keeps recyclin his beats, the chorus inst. sounds same as halo and that kelly clarkson one, is the dude deaf?
September 6, 200915 yr I don't see what all the hype is about? It's incredibly MOR, clichéd lyrics, that BORING Ryan Tedder drum beat (I had a bet with myself whilst listening to this, 'I bet this song is produced by Ryan Tedder'. I went and checked to see, I was right  ), the only good thing about it is her voice. Tbh, she needs to do something interesting. At least Whitney managed to crack out some belter pop hits, the most well known being 'I Wanna Dance With Somebody'.

(Maybe a typing error on your part ) and B - 'Halo' was basically the 4th incarnation of his songs... That's not at all original (like most people seem to be making it out to be!) [Also 'Already Gone' was done BEFORE 'Halo' -_-] 'Happy' really does stand apart from the rest of his productions. People are just saying "It's a rehash of 'Halo'" etc... as it's a Ryan Tedder production and it's an easy excuse to not like the song imo. I really don't get the comparisons to 'Halo' at all tbh.
September 6, 200915 yr Author I LOVE THIS. THIS IS MY ANTHEM. OH MY LEONA <3 MOVE OVER CISUS. ITS LESUS NOW :smoke:
September 6, 200915 yr It's going to be played on Radio 1 today, and Leona will be calling in first to speak a little about it! From 4pm people! :w00t:
September 6, 200915 yr Just so we all know, I love this already  She just wants to be happy
September 6, 200915 yr The song is ok nothing special she's playing it safe again. But her voice is great and thats about it.
September 6, 200915 yr I actually thought she'd go with something a bit more upbeat as the first single but im happy with this!
September 6, 200915 yr I think its safe to say Alexandra's going to have no problem getting to number one now. 6/10
September 6, 200915 yr 'Bleeding Love' type of song only comes once every blue moon. Its a shame that every single Leona produces HAS to be compared to BL and MUST achieve the sucess of BL or it'll be considered a flop (e.g. forgive me) - back to Happy. I really think this is an absolutely fantastic and the best song Leona's ever produced. Props to Ryan because this song DOESNT resemble Halo, Battlefield or Already gone, although the drums are identical. She really has shown us whats shes made off, her vocal gymnastics are astounding, and while the production of the song is simple, the lyrics are haunting and meaningful. I've never been more exicted for an album to drop down. Very suprised and congratulations Leona, another global number 1 will be heading you're way very soon!

I agree. It's such a lazy way to critique a song by just saying it sounds like all of his other songs when it blatantly doesn't.
September 6, 200915 yr Author Looks like i predicted what the song would be about correctly :heehee: Quite happy with that (no pun intended)
