The Last Time's lyrics were cruelly symbolic :(

I agree, make sure you PM me when you have an entry in mind and I'll let you know my thoughts!

Past Rontvian acts continue to excel in UK charts, topping both this week

Pixie Lott, who represented FSR Rontvia in BJSC XI in October 2008 with Boys & Girls has just gone straight to #1 in the UK charts with All About Tonight, knocking off Example's Stay Awake, the rapper having represented the nation in BJSC XVIII with Watch The Sun Come Up. Despite being complete unknowns at the time of sending, Pixie in particular, the pair have given the RTVN something to cheer about.

Ricardo Delta said: 'It's incredible to see how these two acts have grown since representing FSR Rontvia in BJSC. Pixie was little more than an unknown pop singer with 3000 MySpace followers and a couple of catchy songs when we selected her for XI. A year later she went to #1 in the UK with the very song she represented Rontvia with and fast forward three years and she's claiming her third! Example has had two #1's this year in the UK and now a #1 album, a far cry from finishing in the bottom five of BJSC with Watch The Sun Come Up but we could see his star quality. We're also pleased with the success of Caro Emerald who has gone on to have one of the biggest and more enduring albums of the year with Deleted Scenes From The Cutting Room Floor. It really proves that from time to time our internal selection process finds acts with real future potential, it's very pleasing to have been so on the ball with these acts that would go on to become future stars.'

Having finished 10th with Katie Cole in BJSC XXXVII, FSR Rontvia have already confirmed their entry for the next contest to be held in Farahtyn.

If FSR Rontvia ever start up their own independent record lable, Ricardo Delta should go talent spotting as he clearly knows a potentially big artist when he sees one. :D

He did of course decline to mention the 30 odd entrants that *haven't* gone on to any sort of UK success, but what sort of PR company focuses on the negatives? :P

Lise Karlsnes flies the flag for FSR Rontvia in Farahtyn

Norwegian singer Lise Karlsnes, formerly of the band Briskeby has become FSR Rontvia's 38th BJSC entrant and is hoping to become our 36th finalist. The electro-pop song, Red Hot, is just that and has burned its way up the Rontvian charts, smashing in at #3 on its first week. Norwegian acts have had mixed success for FSR Rontvia in the contest - Maria Haukaas Storeng and Mira Craig's Mine All Mine finished 3rd and became a BJSC classic, as did Mira's own Headhunted, although it landed the nation with our first DNQ! Girlband Shackles finished 10th and Lise is Rontvia's fourth Norwegian entrant...

Respected pop blog Pop Love Dance had this to say about the song: 'Red Hot takes the best bits of Scandinavian electro pop - the glorious layered 80s influenced production, the BIG chorus, the sorrow bursting from every seam, the stunning outro - it's pop perfection. I've seen it compared elsewhere to Sweden's Vanbot and I'd say that that's a fair comparison - it has that same sort of 'D.I.Y. Robyn' sound to it.'

Lise Karlsnes qualifies for final and climbs to #1 in FSR Rontvia

Lise Karlsnes' Red Hot has become FSR Rontvia's 26th straight qualification to the BJSC final. This is a record now that Torchwood have stopped participating. The song is expected to come top ten or thereabouts according to the odds although Kopecka's Loreen is the hottest favourite that the contest has had in a long time. Will they win by a landslide? Meanwhile Red Hot has climbed to #1 in FSR Rontvia on its third week in the chart having moved 3-2-1 thus far showing that the country are putting their full weight of support behind Lise!

Lise Karlsnes bags fourth 2nd place for FSR Rontvia

Following in the footsteps of two stone cold Rontvian classics - The Sound of Arrows' M.A.G.I.C. and Anna Abreu's Music Everywhere as well as Zowie's Broken Machine, FSR Rontvia have finished 2nd for a record fourth time thanks to Lise Karlsnes' Red Hot, which has been at #1 in the nation for the past two weeks. Kopecka won the contest for the third time with Loreen's Sober, which has already been a top ten hit in FSR Rontvia. Ricardo Delta said 'We're ecstatic with second place. The right song won and we don't have the funding to host again so soon having already done it twice in 2011. This is the best of both worlds, an amazing result and getting to visit Kopecka again.'.

FSR Rontvia's 2011 entry record is now as follows: 1-1-6-12-1-9-10-2 and the hit streak stretching back to September 2009 lives on!

Elsiane finally take to the stage for FSR Rontvia

After months of delays, Peruvian/Canadian trip-hop duo Elsiane will be representing FSR Rontvia in the 39th edition of the BJSC to be held in Kopecka following their win last month. Following a successful year for the nation that has included three wins and a second place last month, Elsiane are said to be the risk that the RTVN were looking for. Ricardo Delta said 'Vaporous is a hauntingly beautiful song and we hope that it appeals to the other nations. It was a huge hit in FSR Rontvia and it was felt that the time was right to share this glorious piece of music with the world'.

Espen approves for obvious reasons. :smoke: Could FSR Rontvia be set to win AGAIN? I think so. :o

WIN? :o no way! I'd consider mid table an achievement

Maybe I'm just biased. :heehee: It's a very unique entry, so it does stand out!

True, it really could go any way though, I do hope it doesn't DNQ!
It WILL qualify, for once FSR Rontvia will majorly benefit from being in the indie semi.

Ooft thank you Addy  wasn't sure what you'd make of it! And indeed Dandy*, I'm so pleased with the mix of countries in Semi 2, it's not often that I hope for indie support!

Elsiane surprise with 7th place finish!

Although widely expected to finish anywhere between low top ten and mid-table, home bookies were less confident than usual in the chances of our entry with RontBet tipping Elsiane to finish between 13th-20th. In reality the duo's mesmerising track finished in 7th place, scoring well throughout the evening and finishing on 109 points. Ricardo Delta said 'we took a risk this month and it resulted in another hit, we're very glad with the outcome, it's been a fantastic year for FSR Rontvia - we've dabbled in all sorts of different genres to much success, only missing the top ten once in 2011. Thank you all'.

FSR Rontvia's 2011 entry record is now as follows: 1-1-6-12-1-9-10-2-7
