Thanks to Jerick that is, because we'd all have sent Laleh otherwise

I'm very happy with my choice though!

I just noticed Ashton are being represented by Elen Levon, an Australian female artist.

I wonder how many Australian artists in total have been entered into BJSC XLII? :o

How apt!!!

Annah Mac is from New Zealand if that counts :P Well it doesn't, but Australasia is well represented!

In a close contest, an Australian always walks away with the prize, it's BJSC etiquette! Will this be a close contest though? :o

The only other Australian acts I've sent were Delta Goodrem (naturally) who sunk in at 17th with the masterpiece aka Believe Again and Katie Cole who finished 10th with Sunrise. I've also sent New Zealander's Zowie (2nd) and Ria (9th). After the UK, Sweden and the US, Australia are easily my 4th favourite musical nation.
Australia is a pretty popular nation for Ashton. May have sent more acts from Australia than from Svenska. :o

I always seem to come back to Sweden, they've provided a LOT of my entries. Sweden provided some of the very early huge hits in my personal chart (Erase/Rewind, Always Have, Always Will) but it wasn't until the mid-late 00's that my Scandipop obsession really took off.

Looking at my personal chart #1 hits, the UK have had the most, with the US 2nd, Australia (a close) 3rd, Sweden 4th and Germany 5th. Delta accounted for more than half of the Australian #1's

Your love affair with Australia is well documented so it's no surprise really!

Butterfly Boucher is from Australia too! :o Obviously the flavour of this month, looks like some of the strongest entries are from Down Under (and I don't just mean my own!).

:o

I mean you never fail to bring us a real gems and only in rare occasions I don't connect to songs you present.

This is amazing btw.

Very fresh and innovative...kudos to you for that.

Thanks Addy, glad you like it  A bit different to Flares, to say the least

And yes, I'm pleased that I may or may not be able to support Colours :P

I wish I could support 'Colours'

I have the same feeling

And GD, I quite like this entry, very different to the last one but I like the diversity  Hopefully it can do well - I won't be able to vote for it in the semis :( It's very indie-pop but not too much on the indie side for me to dislike it :P

Glad you like it Daniel :D Indeed, it has indie tendencies but it's still got a big pop chorus! Trance, indie-pop...only eight more genres to find for 2012 :D

Gossling FLOPS!

Gossling's Wild Love, Rontvia's entry to BJSC XLII has finished in 15th place with 91 points, the second 'flop' for the country in three contests going by the 14 and upwards are hits system. In a VERY close run contest, Gossling came worst off of a very tight bunch with just four points separating 8th and 15th place, she was 8 points ahead of the song in 16th...Ricardo Delta said 'I think Gossling can be proud of what she's done, just one more point from somewhere and it'd have been another hit. We're not sure what we're going to do next, Prance Faris last month aside we've had a very lacklustre run of form recently, hopefully it'll turn around. It could be worse, we could be Kopecka!'

Wild Love has spent four weeks inside the Rontvian top five. The winner of the contest though brought good news to the country, it was our 12 pointer, Colours by Emma Hewitt representing Botanikka! Ashton finished a close second for the second month on the trot, fingers crossed that their second win won't be too far away. Their four 2nd places beats Rontvia's three!

BREAKING NEWS

With tie's broken, and Skall having voted late, it turns out that Wild Love finished 14th in the end, which takes it over the line into Hitsville and doesn't seem quite so bad after all psychologically. Ricardo Delta is working on a solution to help FSR Rontvia back into the top ten in the very near future, although sitting only a couple of points outside it, it doesn't seem like that big an issue to worry about. Reports of a near DNQ were however met with raised eyebrows and the Rontvian delegation would like to thank Botanikka, Espen and Kluminican Republic for boosting Wild Love in the semis with huge scores and ensuring that this didn't happen!

Only in Rontvia they call something as high as 15th a MASSIVE FLOP.

O/T slightly, but MAJOR love Pavel for that glorious sig.

I really liked Wild Love, shame it didn't make it to top 10 for you. :(

Yes I know, although 14th where it actually came I can live with :P

I should know that I'm doomed whenever you like my entries :drama:

Ah not to worry, I've had enough top tens, it's nice for other countries to have a chance, at least it was only a couple of points away from the top ten
