Ashton look back to Scandinavia for XXVII

Papers leaked from the ASC today show that they are in discussions to former FSR Rontvia entrant and rising Ashtonise star, Anna Abreu, as well as the former Queen of Tinnmark and former representative of both Tinnmark and Ashton, Tone Damli Aaberge, to represent Ashton at XXVII. The ASC is also considering Gabreille Aplin and Gabreilla Cimli for XXVII.

XXVII could be the most hotly contested internal selection in Ashtonise history as the ASC looks to follow what it hopes will be it's first top10 since Butterflies this month with another top 10. The first back to back top10s since IX.

The ASC are aiming high indeed and we think Scandinavia is a bloody good place to start.

Molly Sandén Rockets into Contention

Molly Sandén was seen leaving Ashton House earlier sparking rumours that she could be in contention to represent Ashton in XXVI or XXVII. Our source has exclusively confirmed to us that the ASC has approached her in relation to her track 'Det är inte jag' from the album 'Samma Himmel' the same album her Foreign Language Spin Off entry, Karlek, came from. Our source told us that She & Him had some serious competition and both options were being heavily looked at ahead of the confirmation deadline.

ASC explains switch ahead of Results

The ASC revealed that they made the last minute switch from She & Him to Lucania after they and the Ashtonise public grew bored of In The Sun. The song has already tumbled out of the Ashtonise charts. The ASC said in a statement that 'We refused to enter something that wasn't loved at the confirmation deadline by the public and us on the ASC, and we refused to enter a track that the nation was bored of just to pander to a voting bloc. That's not the Ashtonise way, nor will it ever be.

Richard Vission, Static Avenger and Lucania's dancefloor epic 'I Like That' was selected to be brought forwards from XXVII for entry. The ASC is hopeful that Ashton can make a rare appearance in the top half of the scoreboard in the country's first final appearance since XXI

ASC cautiously optimistic about XXVI results

The ASC are hopeful that tonights results will see Ashton return home with a 'Hit' for the first time since Butterflies flew into the top5 in XX. Reports from Ashton House are suggesting that the ultimate aim is to see Ashton return to it's historical ground of 7th-9th.

No problem, it is a great song. But I still hope your hint in the voting thread, means you are going to enter The Liar and the Lighter  but it's all about what you love, so go with whatever (or another song completely). And hahaha I know what you mean, when I listen to Girls' Generation's albums, I get the general idea by the production: upbeat = happy/jolly/in love; slow beat = sad/longely/depressed/dumped.

Or if I can find them, I look at the lyrics, read them once so I get the general gist and that's me done. Or wikipedia is your friend, also youtube comments on their videos are useful (that's how I found what Hoppipolla was all about).

But anyways, here is a snippet from tomorrows edition of the New Caprican Post - "According to early national polls, the New Caprican people have taken both potential songs that are in contention to represent Ashton for BSJC27 to their hearts, and when asked, 'Are you looking forward to future entries from Ashton?" the result was a resounding yes with over 90% saying they are"

It may come, eventually. :heehee: I know what i'm like it'll probably not appear for months if at all :(

Its the first album i have that's entirely in a foreign language, this is new territory for me

I might google translate the lyrics, or i may learn Swedish over the summer as a hobby :kink:

:cheer: Fantastic news! A snap poll for Ashpoll has revealed that 83.5% of people polled are looking forward to New Caprica's next entry 15% said they needed to see more from the country before making that kind of judgement

ASC disappointed with I Like That's result

I Like That limped home in a soul destroying 31st place in BJSC XXVI's final. Some of the contests worst songs flew into the top 10, a top10 saved by winners FSR Rontvia and Kopecka's sublime entries.

The ASC are disappointed in 31st for arguably this years best club hit. With just 88points from 10 countries the song does little to plug the leak that has sprung from Ashton's position on the all time charts. While the 88 points are Ashton's first points since XXI after 4 criminal DNQ's the ASC had hoped for more from one of the best tracks of the year so far.

I Like That holds steady at #1 on the Ashtonise charts followed by Psycho at #2 and Precious To Me at #3 all non movers from last week's chart. This is the second chart in 3years not to have a Sugababes track in the top5.

The ASC are carefully examining their options for XXVII

Ashton to announce it's XXVII intentions next week

The ASC and SNÁ have informed the Quilvorian press that as part of their renewed contract they will be using a fresh approach to the contests from XXVII onwards. It is unknown what this change will involve or what it's implications will be on the Ashtonise entry. The ASC confirmed that Ashton had informed FSR Rontvia it would be entering in the 27th contest, but refused to comment further.

Speculation from within Ashton House has revealed that Ashton will not reveal who is in contention to represent Ashton in BJSC XXVII for another 2 weeks. The unusually late announcement from the ASC is said to be part of that fresh approach. It is unclear if the approach will involve a change to the current entry strategy.

The ASC ended the press conference with the following video:

There could be a good song behind everything except R, though.

I know I'm a bit too late saying this, but 'I Like That' finished far too low! :(
